This is a space for PureAudio related discussion. Anyone is welcome to post here & of course garym when/if he has time. Personally, I esp like the signature industrial design of the chasses, the aesthetics & material-efficient design philosophy - unique as far as I know.

And some chassis colour options I've spotted on the net: Vinyl Phono Preamp Reference 2 Class A Monoblock

great industrial design.
so organic and tactile.
the latest samples have a smoother less textured feel.

Hi there. Thanks for all this Owen. I have a black ONE photo here... People seem to like this finish.

black looks great. is it the same textured finish as the silver ?

It does look good - I withdraw my earlier comments about all-black The PureAudios have lots more going on, form-wise than the usual black box - shapes, textures, lines, surfaces, shadow, etc

They might be all futuristic but man alive that mesh frame work and grill outer skin is just asking for dust big time!!! That alone would have put me off considering one.

Hmmm that would rule out most black finished amps, most valve power amps (caged or un-caged). Piano gloss finishes, horiz heatsinks... At least the dust doesn't end up so much inside the amp - where it presents electrical/corrosion/fire risks.

my nearly 6 year old pureaudio vinyl phono stage is still dust free inside

I've seen one or two units that have been in use for a few years. The interior remains quite clean. The only exception was a Reference power amp that had been left in situ while new gib and plasterwork was done in the owners house. Then the cat had slept on it and peed inside. It was easy to clean up, but unnecessary to let it get that way. :-(

This image shows how our chassis design is derived from actual needs rather than just being a styling exercise. We think this is unique to Pureaudio. Everything we do is for a reason, and the chassis design is the most visible aspect of that. This unit has been running for an extended time in Class A before being photographed. The temperature scale shows the casework at 35 degrees with the heatsinks running (white) at 55 degrees C. The open structure allows air to freely flow through the chassis and keep the internal temperature under control.

Hi andrewp, just run the light brush on your vacuum cleaner over it every now and then! I like the style, but even if I didn’t, I love the sound of the Vinyl Pre - streets ahead of the Dynavector P75/3 I sold you! Mind you so it should, the production model costs $3K more than the P75/4! Cheers, John.

Better than the best preamplifier in the world? We think so! Our French distributor told us on several occasions that our Control Preamplifier was the best he had heard in his years of dealing in audio. Now we have released the new Control 2 preamplifier we are being told that this is a step up over the original Control. This makes us very happy indeed. :-)

The first feedback from distributors has been from Germany and Michael there sent us this photo of the Control 2 with a pair of monos in their demo system. Up to date information on our activities can be found on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/pureaudio.co.nz/

Just a couple more details on the Control 2. It uses modular plug in line amps, so future upgrades are possible. It also has provision for a plug in phono stage that will be available later this year.

For those of you who like to peek inside here is a look into the new Duo 100.3 power amp. Dual mono, 100 watts per channel into 8 Ohms, 30 of those watts in pure Class A.

Hi Michael, The original Control preamp is built in a modular fashion, mostly as it makes servicing, if ever needed, easy. The whole thing can be disassembled in about 20 minutes. The Control 2 is intended to be more of a future proof platform. The chassis and power supply accept plug in line amps, an optional phono stage, and a control board. This allows the possibility of future upgrades, but also makes servicing easy. With customers in far flung locations, and a dearth of capable audio technicians, being able to ship a module if needed, and have the customer or retailer install it, makes everybody's life easy. This is one of the issues with high end audio. Mostly you're sh*t out of luck if your amp fails or gives trouble as most of the importers have no technical backup. That applies here in NZ too...

New product whisper... should be available at the end of this month... a new small phono preamp at an affordable price. The two prototypes are out and about at present gathering feedback from use in a range of systems and we are very happy with what we are being told... More soon, photos etc...

Now that is very interesting. Could never justify the price of the other phono, no matter how good!
