We chose the Cardas because we wanted the best connector we could get, and because we had to meet European requirements. Banana sockets must be protected so you cannot inadvertently touch bare metal. These posts are Rhodium plated copper. We have had stock of an adapter that Cardas offer that is made of the same material and can be used for those who must have bananas, but in reality this has not been an issue. People buy the amp and have spades fitted. They're not plugging and unplugging leads so not an issue. The amps are easy to sell, our problem at present is keeping up with orders. The best problem to have. 👍

That mag has changed the PureAudio One listing, Originally they recycled the 25w Class A and mode switch description from many issues ago. Flashback to Plinius

Just to record with sadness Gary's passing a few days ago. Gary will be remembered for his great audio designs for Pureaudio, older Plinius and Craft Audio. From a personal point of view he has been both a friend and mentor. I will be trying to uphold his memory in continuing to produce The Wand EQ Phono which he designed and has given permission to do this.

Oh no! He will be sorely missed. What a shock. Never met, but exchanged several emails. Very helpful when repairing my Plinius 8150 a couple of years ago, after which he offered to sell me a prototype PA Vinyl Pre. An offer I happily accepted. RIP Gary.

Very sad news to read this today. I was only just chatting to him at the end of January, about his plans to return to work on light duties in mid-Feb. (now-ish) My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Such a terrible loss, Gary will be sorely missed!

Aside from his business partner/s, did Gary have any technical assistant or design protégé?

I appreciated Gary's time and wisdom as well. Mark Audio drivers, Topping DAC and Les Davis Dampers all made their way into the house on his recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with a Plinius amp.
Thanks Gary, RIP.

Oh man, very sorry to hear this. He was a cool and likeable guy and a talented designer. I had an SA50 and really enjoyed it. One of those hi-fi items that I really regret parting with.

A nice service, with some interesting & amusing stuff from Peter Thomson & Ross Stevens, among others, including about the Plinius & Craft Audio days.
