She has a new binaural recording head set-up, which might allow us to hear your show system Jason Victor Serenus has done this at previous shows... A friend of mine is the US distributor for MSB and he sent me the link to one for their room at Axpona I think it was... I know what their show room sounds like (spectacular) and the binaural visit just didn't come near capturing it. The room door behind the listener though sounded very real as it banged shut... :-)

And looking forward to Capital Audiofest David Cope will be again using The Wand TT and Tonearm but this time will move to Acapella LaCampanella loudspeakers driven by our Reference Monos and Control 2 Preamplifier. Yum.

As Gary will be too busy running a business (& taking orders flooding in after RMAF ) to hang around here all the time,.... I spotted this, this morning on Part-Time Audiophile, a dedicated report on Old Forge Studio's RMAF room. I've lifted a couple of pics:

Well its true, I'm buried. But the pony express did drop off this mornings news, and that was amongst it. Nicely written and a generous handover from Marc.

No, Marc must have been thinking about the Duo, which he has experience with.

Birutė Galdikas would be proud!
Looks like a 401 and a Sugden A21 amp? in the mix there as well. No idea about the glass.

There is a 9.5" Wand at the rear... The ONE Integrated is parked while the monos and Control 2 preamp have a turn. The Pureaudio amps and The Wand TT (not shown) are all going to Capital Audio Fest.

It is always rewarding when someone likes your work, and the only way to really know where you sit in the market is to hear what others say. We all think our own work is "the best" but in truth it is only what others think that matters. This is why the response we are getting from our new US distributor is so important to us. He has been long exposed to a particular niche in the market, distributor for Audio Note UK and retailer of Devore, Shindo, Sugden etc. so his assessment really matters to us. It turns out that we really are competitive in this niche. In a series of emails David Cope has told us just how good our products are. At present he is running our Control 2 preamp, Reference Monos and Vinyl preamp. This driving his Devore Orangutans in his home system. He says nothing has sounded as good as this combination, the quality of sound is "Outrageous". He posted on Facebook about this: "I’ve been living an audiophile cliche this past week. You’ve seen it countless times in reviews. “I’m hearing things I’ve never heard before in recordings I’ve played scores of times on a wide variety of gear.” I place the blame squarely on The stack of Pure Audio electronics I’ve been breaking in non-stop since it arrived on Tuesday: The Vinyl phono stage, Control 2 line pre-amp and Reference Mono Class A amplifiers. On Wednesday and Thursday I played nothing but LPs, noting tremendous detail, beautiful timbre, a rainbow of harmonics and a deep, wide, layered soundstage with unusually specific location. All this with an aluminum bodied Denon 103 fed directly into the Vinyl, skipping the normally de rigeur SUT. Yesterday, wondering how much of the magic was due to the phono stage, I added the Innuos ZENith MkII and Aqua Acoustic Quality Formula. The “I never heard that before” refrain continued. Particularly startling was the sound of water dripping in a cavern in Jeff Pevar’s album “ From the Core“, which as written about and recorded in the Oregon Cave National Monument. Previously, this was scarcely noticeable. Yesterday I wanted a sweater and rain slicker." :-)

Here is a one time special offer. This is available to members of the forum only. You must have been a member for at least 3 months and have a few posts to your name. We have two LV-1s up for sale at a good discount. 1/ One of the two prototype units. 2/ A manufacturing second (the reflow was not perfect and had to be touched up by hand - ie the solder joints needed manual tidyup) Both are as a new product in appearance and in function. There is no functional difference between the two. The purchaser must agree in writing that the unit is for their own use and will not be onsold, listed on Trademe etc. First in first served. Contact me via the enquiry form at our website www.pureaudio.co.nz to express your interest. Please identify your forum user name in your enquiry. This is very unlikely to be repeated. See Neilsan's write up elsewhere on the board for an idea of how this performs.

A little mid week shenanigans, since I won’t get around to installing this little beauty into our main rig ‘til the weekend, and I’ve been stuck indoors tending to a sick toddler... (Note the extra-heavy duty brackets installed to ensure adequate support for the latest “kitchen radio” amplifier)

Listening impressions, straight outta tha box? Plenty, and I mean, PLENTY of bass, warmth, presence and detail! Was really convenient to be able to set the cartridge loading and gain without opening the case (cf. Plinius Jarrah), as well.
Looking forward to an extended listening session in suitable environs, once I have made the necessary domestic arrangements!
