I’ll find out tomorrow as I have ordered a copy from Marbecks. Half expect them to say, sorry out of stock! No, they confirmed with me that its the 2014 pressing and that they have copies in stock.

Nathan says they will be the last of the stock, so get them while you can.

Well, a couple of years ago, maybe longer, I sold my WRC set of Solti’s Wagner Ring Cycle. Citreon bought it! Have had sellers remorse for a while, nearly bid on a collectors box set a while ago, watched it on TM, no bids, but the seller didn’t offer nor relist. So, when this set was listed on Tm recently, $40 reserve and $80 buy now, I jumped in on the day it was listed and made a bid at reserve, with a small auto bid in case. Five watchers but I ended up the only bidder. The major difference between this set and the one I sold, is the WRC had an extra LP and booklet giving an introduction to the 4 operas. www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2325955597An interesting aside, the seller is of Polish descent and recognised the name Sobieski, that I use as part of my email address - a childhood hero of mine, King Jan Sobieski, of Poland, who saved Europe from the Ottoman invasion by defeating the invading army at Vienna.

I thought so, too! But $25 postage bumps the price up a bit.

Had email to say they have put away their last copy for another customer and have ordered another copy for me (yeah right, where would they find another.

Don't worry John.
They were holding it for me but I've asked them to release it to you as I already have a copy. But they did seem confident that they could get another copy.

Now $40/45, one unanswered question. Did you send him the Southbound link?

It was me. I suggested he check the prices elsewhere.

And just by magic the price being asked did shrink...

So...the bloke on TM with the fully retored [riiiight...] 401 in the mahogany plinth has finally seem the light and reduced his asking ....but now hes removed the arm and cartridge...So hes still in dreamsville! Clearly hes got shares in TM as his relisting fees must be keeping TM happy..!

Mighty Ape list the same item for over $700!!
Read somewhere, can’t find it now, that sets for Europe were pressed by GZ and USA market ones pressed at home.
Any how, most GZ pressing issues can be fixed with a clean in the US RCM, and replace paper sleeves with good quality anti-static ones. Which is what I do with all new purchases before play.

Johnny Cash - stick with his ealier albums - At Folsom Prison (live), etc.

At Folsom is a cracker but I also really enjoy his American Recordings series

Im generally with Owen on that one, not a huge fan of his American recordings series. Johnny 99 is one of his in between period ones I quite like too. Used to often be found cheapish on vinyl...
