Not just large or lavish rooms, often it's not about equipment either, it's more the style, ambience, that makes a listening (or HT) room look inviting. Here's a wee space that looks comfy....

Or this bigger one, which also displays the music nicely......

I quite like the look of this room. Looks like an intimate space where you are surrounded by great music!

I quite like the look of this room. Looks like an intimate space where you are surrounded by great music! Looks more like a disorganised mess that the owner should be ashamed of. In his defense I should add that either the room is too small(it is) and he needs to get a grip on his purchasing. I like the original pic that Owen posted. Now that looks tidy, cosy and inviting. Small spaces that are crammed with racks, shelves etc provide many challenges which can often lead to the "bugger it, where are the headphones" response.

Yes, the best laid plans etc... Had originally thought my new space would house all my LP's, CD's, books, guitars, with plenty of room left for furniture. Didn't happen. Biggest issue has actually been the furniture as the 2 chairs destined for there have made the room overdamped, currently in negotiations to remove said chairs. And No I don't have enough room for the CD's and the books either...

Dream of coming home and settling down in here It's so sterile! It'd be like sitting on the deck of a starship. ...Now if 7 of 9 came with the room...

Not really a 'listening room', more a 'room divider', but I like the 'ordered randomness' of this space. It looks like you could change & adapt it over time. I've no idea where the lspkrs are.

Here's another that's not totally a listening room. Not really sure what it is, more a 'den', but looks inviting. And a pair of Pass Aleph mono amps sitting on the bench. Some impressive looking vintage loudspeaker cabinets in-wall.

Yup the Eames #670 Lounge Chair & Ottoman is not only but a fine listening chair - not being too high or enveloping around the head to affect listening. The open-frame design & leather too, I think minimises its sonic impact & a swivel chair is handy if your room has L-R soundstage anomalies I feel a Listening Chairs thread coming on

now we're talking more eames but why is it sideways to the speakers ? a typically poorly setup audio "salon" ?

A few years back, looking for a decent chair, lots of research, Eames came near top of list, but when a found one in a furniture store it just didn’t fit me! 6’2” and 16stone just couldn’t get comfortable in it. Settled on a lazyboy.

Frank and lab, nice combo, esp as my lab cross is called Frankie!

Couldnt see a glass of reisling there either... Thanks goodness for that. A good Shiraz is what's needed, not some whimpy Reisling...

Both can be very good, even sublime, just depends on the occasion! But these days, mostly drink home made fruit wine. No preferences, but peach can be great, and loquat - ahh nice ripe fruit and leave the pips in when fermenting imparts a lovely almond flavour. Loquat will be ripe soon.
