And for those that are interested the speakers are KEF RDM3 monitors from the 90s 😉

Spacious room & always good to see low level lighting ambience. (My gut feel is that, with that generous space, I'd be itching to move the spkrs out into the room a bit - maybe to 1/5 room depth.)

And they say that, with a single sub, place it at a room boundary - a corner or mid wall - for most uniform LF room mode response.

yes, pull speakers out a bit but leave sub where it is. maybe i'm overly sensitive but i find most of those big boom boxes quite directional.

The owner is not trying hard enough-too many empty spaces on those shelves.
(and I'm envious of the room size)

We're nit-picking of course

what's more worrying is how the records are improperly stored.
all that leaning over will lead to warp central !

My first thoughts in order were 1. Nice ambient lighting 2. really needs a colourful rug, not for acoustics but for aesthetics, as that floor space is too bare looking 3. Macs <thumbs up> 4. Oh, there's naked breasts...

I've always admired being able to display your record (or CD) cover art & plan to install some wall-shelves to do this better than on the record shelving in my room. (Some of you have nice record storage racks I know, that allow this to happen.) Here's a couple of examples seen online...

Not really a 'listening room', more a 'listening bar'. Possibly a nice music venue - the Spiritland bar in London. Check out all those tweeters & supertweeters. Not to mention the 18" woofers

I can’t imagine the owner fitting a big system like that in a small lounge room in London at home!

This pic (from the cover of Occasional magazine) reminds us how nice lighting makes a 'space'. And listening rooms are especially important, when it comes to setting a nice mood, a good 'ambience', before listening. To make listening more enjoyable.

My room is 10.4m long by 5.4m wide with a 6m high cathedral ceiling. It is fairly bereft of room treatments as I built the room with careful attention to balancing the mass, absorption and reflection by choice of materials. There is 6 tonnes of plaster in the walls, which gives very solid bass response. Records and CDs are all stored at the rear of the room in custom built cabinets and drawers. Just 4 home made bass traps - 1 in each corner, and a couple of diffusers in the centre of front and rear walls. Now I just have to figure out how to post pictures here… standby…
