They're pretty up and down with their delivery times since they started using I parcel but I think the NZ postal/courier service has got to take some of the rap.

Hope they dont take too long getting to the rest of her catalogue. With the positive feedback for their first effort you'd feel they've got plenty of encouragement.

Mas Canciones, Germany pressing, looks near mint, Electra label 7559-61239-1; For Sentimental Reasons, NZ pressing, very tidy copy, with Nelson Riddle, wea 60471 - been on my wants list for ages, completes the set with "What's New"; Living in the USA, NZ pressing, again very tidy, Asylum 6E-155, gatefold album complete with illustrated inner sleeve. Have Canciones de mi Padre also, but on CD. I remember now, I had a three cassette set of Linda and Nelson Riddle many years ago, forgot one of them was titled "Lush Life", now that is on the want list too!

Trails and Tribulations, new release from the very talented Martin Simpson. Nice to see that this one has come out on a double vinyl release, which is winging it's way to me . I think I have pretty much all of his releases, but mostly in cd format. Enjoy the way he switches so easily from trad UK folk to blues and Americana. Just arrived yesterday, Richard Thompson Acoustic Classics II+Rarities. This is a triple album and I bit the bullet and went for the signed version via Pledge Music. Interesting that they provide two covers. One houses the 3 lps and the 2nd cover(exactly the same) is signed on the front but empty. Good for display or framing I guess. This also came with a higher res download at 88.2 kHz/24 bit, a nice bonus. Not the most inspiring artwork IMO.

Didn't know of this one Robin.
I've been looking out for the vinyl version of Acoustic Volume 1 but haven't seen it yet. Is that in the pipeline?

Didn't know of this one Robin. I've been looking out for the vinyl version of Acoustic Volume 1 but haven't seen it yet. Is that in the pipeline? I think the vinyl release was via Pledge only, limited to 300 copies. Saw some issues raised on Pledge and checked my lps tonight. All 3 dished enough to need the outer ring clamp, had to ream out all the centre holes to fit the spindle and the playing surfaces scuffed, probably from the card inners. There are a few patches where the vinyl has no sheen at all although trying a quick check via headphones surface noise was very low to non existent. Acoustic Vol 1 has only been issued on cd. Cds versions of Vol 2 and Rarities are available from Amazon etc.

That looks like it-maybe it was the signed copies restricted to 300 copies. Bit unsure of the music as I prefer my Thompson electric but reserve judgement 'till I've had a good listen.

Discipline broke down again. Ordered and on the way Procol Harum-A Salty Dog, MoFi lp. Got a bit of earworm over this record after discovering an ancient copy buried in the vaults last year. After a good clean it plays ok but I'm convinced that there's a little distortion caused by groove damage by whatever junker it's been subjected to over the years. I've had the MoFi sacd for a couple of months, like it ,so of course the lp is a logical step.
Richard Thompson-Rumor and Sign, MoFi 2xlp. Pre ordered this last December at a reasonable price on Amazon Japan but after several delays and still no set shipping date gave up and ordered a copy from the USA for about the same price. Really looking forward to this, my favourite RT album.
About to ship, the Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties deluxe reissue. I have the lp/sacd set coming from Amazon UK and went slightly bonkers and ordered the Japan only Sacd set in 7" sleeves etc as well. Thought this would go well with the similar Stones mono box 7" set.

I admire your new levels of restraint and discipline. Thought you might have had a look at the Fairport Convention 50th anniversary set ?

I admire your new levels of restraint and discipline. Thought you might have had a look at the Fairport Convention 50th anniversary set ? No, went with the Pentangle and Tim Buckley boxes instead. Not very interested in Fairport post Sandy.

Their first album pre sandy ( the one with the lampshade on the cover) is well worthwhile if you ever see a copy, but you are right there are only so many Fairport albums you need.

I do have that first Fairport on both cd and vinyl although I think the lp is 4MWB. Been a while since I played it. I've always liked that early group with the two vocalists a la Jefferson Airplane. Some impressive fret work from a teenage Richard Thompson. There's no doubt that Sandy Denny added more to the group than Judy Dyble ever could.

Speaking of Richard Thompson, have you got Henry the human fly ? I'd agree with you about Rumour and sigh, I only have it on CD. Great Society I prefer to airplane sorry !
