This SP10/2 (SL1000) was given to me by the family of a close friend after he died about 1 year ago.Very surprised and very delighted of course. Since then I've replaced all the electrolytics and checked the table on an oscilloscope. Have 3 arms plus the one with the ortofon 30 cartridge on the end, minus stylus! Love it.

My resident SP-25, which I have had from new, probably still my favorite at Chez NM Fitted with a Grace 727, carrying variously a Technics EPC-U205CIII, Denon DL-103R, or Garrott Decca London currently and my project SP-25, which was acquired missing feet, arm board, hinges and cover . but, with new feet ex Japan, new armboard ex USA (not that fitted), sporting most likely a Jelco/LAD SA-370D,

wow that looks mint. what three arms do you have ? Meant that I've got 3 spare arms for the SME 3,Michael.And it is mint! Have all the boxes and parts for the SP10 and arms.First owner was very careful. Although I do have 4 arms, very handy for playing 2 pianos at once! The SME 3 on the SP10,although I've made up a new board for the FR,maybe one day. A Grace 727 (original hardly used) on my poorly neglected Rega 3,my first decent ttable. An FR64fx and an SME 3009/2 on the 401.The 3009 just for show, instead of lying in a drawer. It can be used, but doesn't reach the other's sounds. But a very pleasant sound. Leaving the FR on the 401 because the Technics EPC-205CMK3 SAS wont fit the SME 3,which has my Garrott P77/SAS on it.

Have you @johnnyheathen or michaelw ACTUALLY heard one of these? No sir, I have not. You may be surprised to find that some in this strange wee hobby/obsession of ours carry some rather strong - and at times unsupported - preconceptions and beliefs that may or may not withstand rigorous scientific examination and may indeed crumble beneath the weight of the most basic scrutiny... Now, who wants to discuss cable directionality?

The Marantz originally came with an SME 3009 which was sold when I bought the m2-9 which was eventually replaced by an SME V but I have been SME free for several years now that I have discovered the pleasures of Mørch...

That's a lovely Marantz, but The Pleasures of Morch makes me think of a 1950's paperback Science Fiction novel....

...and the HiFi adverts. Those were the days: None of this namby pamby valve rubbish and belt drive turntables: Monster solid state receivers with lots of lights and meters, big hefty DD turntables with Shure V15 cartridges, speakers with 15 inch drivers.

Hi Graham,
My system, such as it is, consists of undernourished valve amplifiers and a belt drive Turntable.

In my experience, the "add image to post" button doesn't show up when using "Quick Reply", so I just go back to my quick reply using the edit button, and the add image to post then appears!

Hi snewt - I think sub is correct, you have to use the full 'Reply' (button at top RHS) & use 'Add Image to Post'. Or Edit your posted Quick Reply. PM me if continuing problems.

Ohhh.....am I correct, this seller has 2 x SP10 MkIIs, neither with the usual Technics SH-10E Power Unit? Plus 2 x SME 3012s, one in parts. All the above have suffered from signif dampness, showing corrosion. Sad

Well here it is. Switched to desktop and got all the options. I recently acquired an Aesthetix Rhea phono stage from a fellow forum member. This has three inputs so I thought I'd mount another arm to take some of the workload off my Benz. As it turned out I was pleasantly surprised with the sound from the rb300/Shelter 501 mkii. Very clean. Makes me wonder if I have the optimal setup on the Benz The Rhea is a great toy as well as sounding gorgeous. I can switch between arms from my listening position with the remote. Not sure about the looks with the 2 arms but it sure is handy. It opens up the possibility of different cartridges for different types of music.
