Hi all.
I have a significant left channel issue on my Meridian 557 power Amp.
It's been to axent in auckland and trident electronics in New Plymouth but neither has been able to sort it.
I have all the schematics and paperwork for the unit but it's looking like I scrap what is essentially going to cost me $2k to find a replacement.
Anyone got any ideas where I may be able to try next before I admit defeat?

What’s it doing or not doing? Note that the schematics for the 557 on Hifi Engine have been fiddled to make them not work if constructed as shown.

What’s it doing or not doing? Long story. Left channel is throwing out significant speaker crackle at high frequency (tweeter) sounds like a blown speaker coil but it's not as it has been tested over multiple speakers. Next logical is caps. They have changed a few related caps but no success so far. Trident have now agreed to work to a set $ value to delve into the system deeper so hopefully they find something Be a real shame to have to bin this. It's a beautiful Amp and would cost a heap to replace I have all three versions of the 557 schematics.
