OMA (OswardsMillAudio) comes to mind: This surely is the 'whackiest'? (think I posted a pic of this weirdo in an earlier post): ...danger Will Robinson, don't judge a book by it's cover

At least some of the others are "artistic", eye of the beholder etc. This one is just plain, utilitarian and bloody awful!

Electronluv! (Hmm, electronluv obviously doesn't like me hot-linking to images on their web page - they appeared in preview, but not after posting.)
And behind the mouth(s) of that big bass horn opening in the rear wall ... is this!
Which, in turn, is fed by this!
True dedication! ;=})

More on giant room horns ...
(Once you get past the adverts!)
www.monoandstereo.com/2014/11/ultimate-horn-stereo-home-system.html
What strikes me as incredibly ugly is the door in the center - albeit it matches the door on the right. Why not make it an invisible panel, magnetic catch, press to open, no gap to the floor?
Anyway, construction photos in the article, and therein a low-light one with the midranges and tweeters installed in front of the horns.
Ugly, boring, system too close on the LH side, no rugs, and looks like an outhouse door in the center.

At least somewhat elegant in an elegant room, although I'm not sure what reflections will do for the tweeters recessed in the middle.
Note the cable lifters ...

It's all fake news... these are all just cgi...clearly no one would be so stupid to have these crackers things in their homes...just imagine the dusting alone!!...lol
I remember when the B&W Naultilus came out... man alive what a thing...and you only need about 100 amps to drive them..clearly a bargain!

I remember when B+W NZ toured a pair of Nautilus amongst their dealers.
Everyone of those fancy metal dome drivers was pushed in.

I remember when B+W NZ toured a pair of Nautilus amongst their dealers. Everyone of those fancy metal dome drivers was pushed in.
I remember (thanks!) when I saw a pair, Newmarket Auckland, changed names now but a store is still there, cnr Kent & Crowhurst, in whenever, late 80's early 90's?
They weren't connected; I think they were due for the next send on. And indeed they already looked a bit battered - not every one pushed in though!
They were smaller than I'd expected, standing next to them, but I had to admire the exquisite design and execution of it.

"Looking a bit like something the Borg might have invented, the $105k Aries Cerat passive/active Aurora Reference three-way, horn-loaded floorstanders with ribbon tweeters were driven by Aries Cerat electronics and digital sources. In a very small room, this strange cubical horn speaker was surprisingly free of horn colorations. Indeed, it was very rich, present, and neutrally balanced. Though I was sitting too close to hear them at their best, I liked the Auroras—a lot. In fact, I thought they were the most interesting and novel new speaker at the show."
There's no accounting for taste ...

I don't think anyone's posted the 'plumbing' speakers yet - with pvc pipes. :-> I saw it on Pinterest the other day - under tqwp - but can't find it now.

It wasn't quite those ones. :->
It was vertical with one or two side branches. I'll look for it some time.

But actually I'm starting to like them!
More on these from
"Next up was undoubtedly one of the High-End highlights from the Munich show this year. This system from Aries Cerat (from Cyprus) and their designer Stavros Danos (pictured) was utterly breath-taking, with the stars of the show for me being the Aurora horn loudspeakers. Just look at them, they are utterly bonkers but at the same time utterly brilliant! Really, this is a speaker that looks like it shouldn’t work at all, but it does…magnificently so. Dynamic and detailed this system was definitely one of the standouts for me, though it is lottery winning money should you fancy taking it home. The speakers have 4 x 12” drivers, an open baffle mid ribbon and inside that horn a compression driver. The electronics are all Aries Cerat too but the star of this room has to be the speakers. Stunningly good!"
To save you scrolling down, a couple of imho best pics:
And for scale:
But there's an even better wider pic at the designers website ( based in Cyprus, page in English) .
I have become fascinated with the horn curves, 4 blades surrounding it.
Like a Jules Verne vehicle to thrust through the molten mantle deep within the earth. I've wondered what the finish is.
At first I thought burl wood, but blocks very expensive, veneer impossible around those curves. So maybe a paint job? Is it really textured in 3D as it appears, or is that a trick of the light, or some treatment. It's almost like beaten copper too. Very organic looking. And 4 x 12" bass speakers?
And then to top all that off, their current crowning glory.
Go to the page to see this astonishing speaker system:
"It was time to finish the speaker project. The Contendo II is finally out. The first pair is already in it’s shipping crates, a total of 20 crates, 3 tonnes in weight, is soon on it’s way, while we are preparing for another two pairs.
A number of people heard the prototypes in our space from the four corners of the globe. I just feel lucky I am enjoying the prototype as a daily speaker in the shop, even as background music."
Cheers !!! ~

I've wondered what the finish is.
Perhaps it's a mould, mold, textured or not? Anyway, very innovative!

Aside from that, he's obviously obsessed with the ribbon tweeter, horn, et al. Writ large. (How about those diffusers on the ceiling?)
A special kind of madness! ;=})
