Chord M-Scaler, a natty, if highly controversial bit of kit from designer Rob Watts. I can’t comment, not having experienced one but it has certainly caused a few mouths to froth over here. Well if it makes one happy..... Those beautiful Klipsches must have satisfying dynamics, Deano. Hi Colin, If you have the chance give the M Scaler a listen it's incredible, As for the La Scalas yes amazing dynamics, mine are a little tweaked though lol

Hi Deano, I’d love one! But best not to say anything to my colleagues lest I escape with all limbs intact. Quite costly here, £3.5k new and only one or two s/h at £3k. I think I’d need to trade in a few things...

That is Owen's avatar, enlarged and pinned to the wall, so he doesn't forget who he his and his duty to us, his hordes. I wish he would put his records away tho'.

A painting I first spotted on a wall in China in 2008 - but I could not find it for sale anywhere at the time. A few years later, a tour-guide friend tracked one down for me & bought it! 'Revolutionary' art, Red Guard Girl.

The two paintings are slightly different...background, expression, ponytail endings and symbol on her red arm band.

They should be the same ... And papahemi is right, my records are even more strewn about - as my son's DJ crates are temporarily in-house until they move out!

'Revolutionary' art, Red Guard Girl. Thanks for sharing Owen, intriguing, there is apparently a whole range of paintings with red guard girls while relaxing from their revolutionary duties.

Wasn't the Red Guard part of the Cultural Revolution that scarred many lives?

Yes, but OTOH it was a passionate time for a generation who had freed themselves from 300 years of a Manchurian rule which was then followed by a few decades of humiliating foreign subjugation. So, you might be able to appreciate that the promise of a socialist utopia & the idea of revolution was pretty glorious & intoxicating.

Speaking of subjugation, that.could be a good word to describe Bill Gates’ potential vaccine mandate.

For danger of getting WAY OFF TOPIC, the book Wild Swans had me horrified at the lengths people went to reach that new "utopia"

I'm with Owen on this one but it's really a polarising topic (when I googled the artworks I've noticed a lot of heated discussions).

Not wanting to diminish the pain suffered at that time, but Jung Chang had an agenda (nothing wrong with that BTW) - her father was effectively killed as a result of Mao's Cultural Revolution. It's a ripping good read & informative for those whose parents were from that time in China. But try wading through ' Mao: The Unknown Story' her follow-up character-assassination tome.

Would admit to not being much aware of the issues til I read the 3 body problem by Liu Cixin. A fascinating insight into the chinese way of thinking imo.

Over 10 years, I guess. Not the most resolving, and a very poor headamp stage. But overall a nice sound and very convenient

There's some bashfulness it seems (it's alright, it's a national trait ) Bashfulness: I plead not guilty. My defence plea: Main (Sanders) system is unassembled and in their boxes in the garage, following a shift to ZQN from DUN. Except Wand TT/arm/Hana - which I have to collect from Simon soon, after a WOF check and fitting a new cartridge. Main system will be reactivated once an extension room is built. (consent was issued last week).

Oh, that’s no good. We got the news that AKL was back in lockdown, so is just ZQN or the South Is going back into it as well? It sure feels like half of England is in Devon and Cornwall atm, with people holidaying locally rather than in Spain or Greece. The weather has been warm and very humid, perfect beach weather and the road to the beach is right past the town. The traffic queues have been so bad the locals won’t even go shopping! The extra population here brings with it the risk of the R rate going over 1 and they’ve been considering another lockdown for the southwest as well. A quick pic of my main system, just putting an AMR AM-77 through its paces. Naim DVD5 for CD transport, my own usb dac, Tidal/Audirvana on the computer. For vinyl the Graham plinth-Garrard 401-Wand Master-Dynavector XX2 into my own valve preamp. The big 211 class A amp is my normal amp.
