Another lockdown and another opportunity to immerse myself in not only Netflix but my vinyl collection.
Stereo sounds better and with more time on my hands the online vinyl buying has increased. Have started sorting through about 10 cubes of records that need "filing/alphabeticising".
How are other Aucklanders spending their hifi/music lockdown time?

Nice one Citröen. Last proper lockdown I spent cataloguing my vinyl collection on Discogs. This time, audio-wise, I’ve been… 🤔
Tweaking & bedding-in the new Quad & Harbeth “kitchen radio” system. I might post details at a later date, if any interest.
Fitting & fettling a heavier 501M tonearm for the Technics SP15. More bass, more presence.
Putting lots of expensive / pretty / classic stereo kit from eBay and TM on watch-lists, then removing them in the morning.
Watching a heap of streaming music documentaries & series: Beastie Boys, Mark Ronson “Watch the Sound”, “Hip Hop Uncovered”, “Count Me In” etc etc.
Putting lots of desirable / collectible / classic records into my Discogs shopping cart, then deleting them in the morning.
Listening to a continuous stream of internet radio from Base FM (Akld), Soho Radio (London) and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM during the working weekdays.
Watching and reading lots of online reviews of fancy / esoteric / vintage / cutting edge stereo kit
And of course, listening to proper FM radio (95BFM) shows over the weekend
Buying overpriced 80’s synth-pop, disco, urban and post-punk 12”s from Europe on Discogs.
So, pretty much. Same old, same old. 🤣

Can totally agree on the in cart now/out cart later!
Thumbs Up to Giles Petersen's Worldwide FM
Yes, please give an update on the Quad/Harbeth system.

Mark Ronson - watch the sound was an interesting watch - also worth a look is 1971 - the year that music changed everything. Enjoying Appletv while the free three months lasts...
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Mainly jazz - some Spiritual Jazz (Vol 11, 12 and 13), a couple of Tone Poets (a McCoy Tyner, and an Art Blakey), some Blue Note Classic series (Sonny Cark, and a McCoy Tyner lp), and Idris Muhammad's - Black Rhythm Revolution. Hilary Woods - Birthmarks, Nils Frahm's latest- Graz and probably some others I've forgotten about!
