That is one serious amount of wrapping! I won't comment on the method of opening, beyond saying that a small child would have got into that much faster (close supervision required, of course).

My grandchildren could have opened that in seconds flat. You should see them in operation at Christmas time !!!!!!

Close-ups of the arm wand: So far, I am surprised by the thinness (2mm) of the carbon fibre composite material. It is reasonably strong torsionally, but shows some flexibility in longitudinal bending - the original alumin wand is thicker (3mm) & stiffer. However, my pal Marc is convinced that the CF wand is a superior performer. I'm keeping an open mind.....

I am new to this forum. I bought my Terminator in 2010 and Salvation in 2012. I have added all Vic's modifications to both over the years. I have also added Owens pedestal. I am now considering moving to Andre's new arm and carbon wand. I have gotten some feedback on audiogon regarding the improvement in SQ from original terminator to new terminator. I would appreciate any additional feedback from transfi owners who have made the leap. Thanks Steve Gunther

Greetings sgunther / steve - welcome to our forums. Nice to communicate again, I trust that you are staying safe & well down in the Sth East? I have Andrey's carbon-fibre wand but am still in the process of swapping it into the system. Things have been slow here over 2019-20 (due to busy family comings & goings) so spare time has been scarce - however I'm looking to catch up on things soon. I owe Andrey some feedback too. Can you link us to any audiogon discussion or feedback on Andrey's C-F Terminator?

Greetings Albert ledoux1238 - we'd be pleased if you'd share some of your latest Terminator tonearm experiences here too. Some of Albert's system information & system images can be seen in this thread from last year.

The latest version arm-mounts we've made for Terminator owners, have been re-shaped slightly, a more 'universal' mount to suit a variety of turntables (other than the TransFi Salvation). - This mount can be located closer to the TT platter, eg. important with TTs like the Technics SP-10 & Garrard 301/401, which have chassis top-frames around the platter. - The mount is 27mm high, which suits most TT platter heights. - The new finish is 'satin' buffed, which should match the Terminator's natural 'machine finish' aluminium. (The previous 'bead-blasted' finish was good too, but was subject to contamination of the bead material (blemishes) & slightly prone to oily finger marking.) (Pocketed undersides, top sample has been satin face-buffed.)

It's been a long while, after an initial problem & 2nd delivery from Russia, I've finally I found time to install the carbon-fibre arm wand from ' Music From Vinyl' (Andrey Shislo) in Moscow, Russia. A few pics for stsrters.... I confess, I'm surprised, early days (one short session), this is a different ball-game, sound-wise....

Update Alert!
It seems Vic is a restless soul in retirement. He has posted a new wand design on the Trans-Fi website.

Link here trans-fi.webs.com/tomahawk-updates"Cartridge head-shell and counterweight are both totally suspended on EPDM O-rings set on TwinCarbon rails. This further isolates and extracts even more detail from the record grooves. Well worthwhile. Only caveat is the cue bar needs to be swapped over and replaced with this dog-legged version"

Check out also, Vic's new Iso-platter for his Salvation rim-drive TT. And new PSU.

Upgrades you're considering?
Or is the SP10 your main focus now?

Still enjoying the SP-10 - but Salvation users are ordering taller Terminator arm-mounts to match Vic's new Iso-platter, which raises platter height by 15-16mm.
