Excellent, thanks ledoux. Great to see your Terminator tonearm with the latest Carbon fibre wand - on a La Platine Verdier TT. And bespoke brass manifold body I believe. Are all the aluminium parts now nickel plated (satin)?

What the approx arm pivot point-to stylus distance? Is Andrey's wand same Effective Length as previously - 75-85mm? (One of the downsides with ultra-short arm length, I found, is heightened sensitivity to record thickness / VTA.)

Distance from pivot to edge to wand is approx. 75mm. My ZYX Ultimate 100 is set to the outer edge of the wand.
Still unable to load photos!

Albert Thanks Albert - that means that your tonearm Effective length os only around 70mm. Photos: Try using imgur.com Once you have regustered there, upload your pics & copy the image BBcode. Then simply paste the BBcode to this page. This may be helpful: darklantern.proboards.com/thread/339/adding-images

Thanks ledoux, IIRC the Verdier La Platine's platter is magnetically levitated with a centre 'pin' of some sort & string-driven by an external motor? It appears that you use no platter mat & also apply a substantial record weight? The arm 'board' appears to be a laminated wood-type material? Are you also using J C Verdier triode amplifiers? Questions, questions, sorry....

Hi Owen, Perhaps a very brief history on my system is in order as a new member to this forum. I have been away from audio for a decade. At the end of last year, a study/listening room became available in my house. I resurrected my old gear, spent many months servicing parts, re-tubing, ...etc. I began to relearn, research, and just trying to catch up with the current state of audio affairs. My general affinity is for niche brands. My preamp is a 1990's MFA Luminescence with built-in phono section Amp is a pair of 40 watt Triode mono-block from Legend Audio/ Von Gaylord Audio which Peter Moncrieff of International Audio Review wrote highly of. The single CDP is a Wadia 16, again of 1990's vintage Speakers are from a local Taiwan brand You will notice that I added a Micro Seiki copper record mat recently. I am still very much in the researching, getting back to audio mind-set. And in the process of researching the Terminator arm led me to this Forum. Having Learnt quite a lot about the arm here and then forming the necessary confidence to acquire the arm. The arm board, specially ordered from Andrey, is constructed from laminated Finnish plywood further laminated onto a approx. 3 mm carbon fiber top plate. I believe the top plate is made from the same material used in the new Terminator wand.

Thanks ledoux. That's a nice story! (I've inserted the imgur BBcodes for thr images, so that they display full size.) The MFA tube preamp had great reviews in the 90s(?). As did Wadia of course. In general not a lot has changed on the analogue side in the last 10 years - maybe better tonearms & cartrdges (although improvement in the latter is debatable). The Legend / Von Gaylord amps are new to me (although I think I still have a few IARs lying around somewhere).
