Ok - new Hula Hut refreshed again. We have moved to Adelaide meaning a down sizing of equipment. Sold the big McIntosh amp JBL L300 speakers plus the Revox PR99 (which I now regret). On arriving in Australia I scored a pair of original JBL 4343B speakers. They needed surrounds done on the bass drivers but otherwise in great nick. I have always loved JBL blue face monitors & these don't disappoint. To simplify amplification I have a Audio Research Vsi60 tube integrated. All n all sounding sweet & very happy so far.

Looks like a lovely large open space.
How does the AR cope with that?

Looks like a lovely large open space. How does the AR cope with that? Hmm good question. 50 watts is arguably a bit light for the JBLs but I was keen to simplify the system. At the moment I'm happy with the sound. The AR is an articulate little amp & coping well. Runs out of puff at high volume on the turntable but still goes to acceptable levels. As I have come from 500 watts a channel monster power this amp/speaker combo is sounding sweet as I suspected it would.

Thanks for the update beeman . I like the way that your systems always have the fun “baked in”, and it’s always nice to see where your journey has taken you. Turns out… Adelaide!!! I have a few colleagues based there, and they have fared better than many with the covid situation. Hope you enjoy the delicious / local red wine. Having seen pics of your DJ kit previously, you may want to investigate a world famous Condesa rotary mixers, made in right there in the Adelaide Hills! 😎 I’m also pleased to see the blue-faced JBLs front & centre once again. Every time you move on to something else, I’m here shaking my head, and waggling my finger.. “you’ll be back!” 😉 Hope the new digs & system bring as much joy to you & yours as your previous Hula Huts!

New amplification for the JBL 4343B. The B denotes the ability to bi-amp using the internal crossover. So added a DBX 223 crossover Dynaco MKlll valve mono blocks producing 65 watts into 8ohms for the tops & JBL Synthesis SS power amp producing 200 watts for the bass. Oh & raveydave I took your advice & have a Condesa mixer on the way. Fingers crossed Mehdi might deliver it next week
