Looks interesting, at a brief glance, Americana is me these days.

I'm pretty sure they've made a mistake on the Robyn Hitchcock - I Wanna Go Backwards Box Set - 8 LP LP-YEP-26101 for $13.99.
I ordered one anyway and will be interesting to see if they honour this price, as they've now changed it to $39.99 (which is still a good price).

I thought Yep Rock re-released a few Arthur Russell titles... but they only seem to have his trucker caps left? 🧐

I thought Yep Rock re-released a few Arthur Russell titles... but they only seem to have his trucker caps left? 🧐 My copies of World of Echo and Love Is Overtaking Me are Audika reissues According to Discogs that Arthur Russell covers album is the only Yep Roc release. Most of the Arthur Russell reissues are on Rough Trade or Audika. You should get that Red Hot release anyway, as it has some great covers including ones by Sufjan Stevens, Devendra Banhart and Blood Orange.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge Citroën. I have a handful of the Red Hot comps, also a big fan of Sufjan Stevens & Blood Orange (and Arthur Russell, and cover versions...) I did get ‘Dark Was the Night’ on vinyl when it came out, but didn’t pick up on this one. Will check it out, cheers again.

Thanks from me as well Citroen, 3 Josh Rouse albums ordered. I have his earlier releases but the newer ones have passed me by for some reason.

Mandolin Orange is nice. They've got the Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore album. Jimmie's a legend & I've been lucky to see him play. And I really should have made an effort to see Alvin when he came over.

Still no sign of a shipping confirmation...hoping it's only because they are very busy processing all the orders.

I got an order confirmation & an email answer to a website query of mine. EDIT - I see that if you have registered an account, the My Account page shows your Order Status - "processing"

Apparently they don't do shipping confirmations.
A few reports online of orders being received in US, so still hoping my deals go through ok at the incorrectly stated lower sale prices.

For those of the Americana and similar bent. Hadn’t heard the term Americana before, so had to go to Google and Wikipedia to find out what it meant. Interesting - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americana_(music)The article provides a list of artists deemed to be performing Americana music. And there has been a Grammy award for the best Americana since 2010 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Best_Americana_AlbumBefore looking things up on line I thought I had a reasonable idea of what the term meant. Then in discussion with a 58 yr old American GP, over here as a short term locum at our local medical centre, even though he expressed an interest in music and Hifi, he hadn’t come across the term before! In my attempts to express my ideas of what it meant, I realised I knew diddly squat! Except to describe it as music from middle America derived from various roots, a crossover in styles. Now I know a little bit more!

Well, I have been having a bit of a binge of late on pre punk english pub rock, Brinsley Schwartz, Rockpile, Dave Edmunds,Graham Parker, and there were a couple of Nick Lowe albums I fancied and didnt have, so got "Jesus of Cool" which TBh is easy enough to find second hand, in fact I thought I had it, but comes as a nice double album with the US release version. Also got "At my age" which I havent played yet. Will go back for some more if the sale continues, once my piggy bank has refilled.

Have you seen the pricing on At My Age on Discogs Got a copy many years ago , some good songs. Bit like Rodney Crowell with an interesting and creative resurgence in late middle age.

Hi Cooks, read a couple of reviews of it and though it sounded of interest. A few parallels with him and Rodney Crowell seeing as how they were both married into the Cash/Carter family. Theres a nice story of where Nick Lowe comes home and announces to his wife that hes just written a new song, then he looks around the lounge and theres Johnny Cash and June Carter sitting on the sofa....
And No Owen I dont know where your order is. I didnt getting any notifications or anything, $ went from my account then my order just arrived on the doorstep a few weeks later.

Citroen - does your Mandolin Orange(s) sound OK? Mine both sound a bit 'flat' - which is a shame for this group that is full of micro-dynamics & nuance in their delivery. And seemingly some (low midrange) distortion through both Mandolin O's. The Yep Roc vinyl is all nice however, clean, silent, omly 1 of 4 discs a bit warped. Compared to the D Alvin & J D Gilmore dble, which sound great - big, live, dynamic, 'you are there'. Maybe these 2 veterans are able to command a better, top shelf mixing/mastering/production?
