Owen Y Blindfaller sounds very good. Not flat at all. Certainly not highlighted in the upper regions but it doesn't need that IMHO. My only criticism would be that the vocals are not as 3 dimensional as the instruments, being slightly recessed in comparison to them. This Side of Jordan sounds very similar to me. Have yet to play Such Jubilee.

I came too late to this to catch a bargain, but after listening to the YouTube clip from Blindfaller, wished I had jumped on board early enough. Had to buy a copy of Blindfaller. Bought off TM from deep discount -$38.11. When it arrives I will post my findings re Owen’s concerns.

Chaps - I have played the Mandolin Oranges (briefly) with another cartridge & the sound is VG-EX, the performances are as they should be, delicate, nuanced - so my London Decca cartridge, we suspect, is at fault & it may have to go back to England I will have a more extended listen soon.

Yep Roc still has this for US$19.99 with free shipping to NZ. Hmm, when I go to the yep roc web site, I am shown only three albums for sale by someone named Rouse!? Will try again.

sub On the left is a list of artists. Clicking on their name shows which albums are available.

Clicking on the artists down the side does not seem to bring up sale items, in that postage costs are added.
In the bar at top was the item “Sale”, and only three titles listed, but today there is added “Americana Sale”:, five pages of listings, seemingly all with free postage. Have ordered two more Mandolin Orange titles - Tides of a Tear Drop and This Side of Jordan - prices are up a bit, total cost $36.08, and am guessing that is US $.
I got an Email confirming.order, and a second email welcoming me as a customer.
just checked bank a/c, $57.67 NZ has been extracted.

Absolutely, less than $29 per LP delivered, very good price. Will have to have another browse!

Hi guys, what was your experience re delivery?
Ordered 12/9, got email confirmation, then an email stating parcel shipped 17/9 and giving a usps tracking number.
Just tried the tracking process, to be told, label created, not yet in system!
Checked my account on yeproc website, it says order is still being processed.
Should I be worried? I have emailed them asking them to explain.

My orders took about 3 weeks to arrive. Owens said his took 4 weeks, so I'd give it another week or so. Not unusual for 4 weeks for standard international mail, and one of those would be within the NZ postal system.

Nah, you may have to be patient - as above, my order too 28 days from order, to arrive. I imagine that the promotional sale would have swamped them.

My order arrived today, well packed. LPs in great condition, BUT, a minor stuff up! They sent me a copy of Blindfaller instead of This Side of Jordan. Waiting for a reply to see what they can do to remedy it. The order slip definitely shows exactly what I ordered.

Well that's disappointing but stuff ups do happen occasionally. Will be interesting to see how they respond.
Keep us posted.

Both good albums - both with the expanded band.

Both good albums - both with the expanded band. You are correct, would be happy with Blindfaller instead, except I already own a copy! Has been getting a lot of play time. had first listen to Tides of a Teardrop last night. Very mellow and laid back, mostly. Excellent recording.

Sent yeproc an email on the 6/10 pointing out the mixed up order, but no response as at 15/10. So, resent email headed Complaint, and got an immediate response. They will resend this week. Fingers crossed.

YepRoc confirmed they would resend the correct album on 16/10, and it arrived today, which is quite prompt. However, I’ve not seen damage like this before - someone took no notice of the Do Not Bend sign! Not sure who I look to for compensation?

Never had a broken record sent to me!
Always just go back to the sender, and they can make a claim with the postal service.

I’ve found Riley, who seems to be their customer service guy, very helpful. They are sending a replacement, in a more sturdy box!
I surmise the damage would have been caused by a heavy blow, rather than someone bending the parcel. It takes a lot to break an LP in half - I’ve done so with a couple put in the rubbish bin! Looks more likely that a heavy parcel, with a sharpish edge has been dropped (or thrown - I’ve seen vids of cargo loaders in action!) on to it.

how do you get 40% off ? i went through to checkout and they only deducted 25%

Post by Citroen on Dec 4, 2019 15:21:03 GMT 12
Something screwy going on, as when I just tried, like you only 25% off. But then I tried again and no discount at all applied for the same items. Discount is supposed to be applied at checkout.

Man, was it securely packaged. A larger box than usual with padding around four sides. The LP was placed between two 30 egg trays, with extra stuffing to keep things in place. Very impressed!

just got my yep roc sale order, nothing special about the packing but each record arrived mint. unwrapping showed one decent pressing, two half-decent, and one that hit warp drive factor 7. played the mandolin orange and it sounds good despite warp 7.
edit, make that one good record, three warpies
almost as bad as mondo !
