After showing prototypes last year, VPI Industries are launching production versions of their Fatboy tonearms at AXPONA this week.
Featuring 3D-printed arm wand together with other machined parts.
No information on wand external dimensions, internal shaping or such.
Interestingly available in gymbal bearing & unipivot " option styles for all listeners ".
" Available only in 12-inch versions, but will be released later in 10-inch and 9-inch versions as well. They retail at US$4,000 each. "
Serious money. Wired with Nordost cable I believe. With 5 year warranty.
Close-up of the gymbal & unipivot bearings - possibly many enthusiasts are still uncomfortable with operating a unipivot tonearm.
