More Mount Joy goodness, 2lp Live At Red Rocks. To be followed by The Tallest Man On Earth, The Wild Hunt possibly his best album IMHO.
Shame it needs to go on the Vinyl Flat first...

A true classic piece and performance, and a truly remarkable sounding one now too! I wish all symphonic music sounded so well recorded/mastered/pressed. Worth every penny, but be warned there are an AWFUL lot of pennies involved. Hector Berlioz - Boston Symphony Orchestra, Seiji Ozawa ā Symphonie Fantastique, DG (The Original Source Series), 2023. RIP Seiji.

I really should have a listen. Owned for years and never played it. Tonight's oldie and goodie Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits. Maybe the first hits compilation from the only version of FM that counts. www.discogs.com/release/947820-Fleetwood-Mac-Greatest-Hits

Not firing up the Mapletree mono blocks Foveaux ?
Last night: Rickie Lee Jones - Kicks Joe Henry - The Gospel According to Water Blue Rodeo - The Things We Left Begind
with the Mapletree Stealh Max monoblocks* switched in. (yep Cooks - they still do the job wonderfully )
* (for trainspotters):
A low distortion Class AB1 ultra-linear output stage employing easily obtained KT88 beam power tubes delivering a conservative 50 W continuous power. A triode/ultra- linear mode switch to permit experimentation with different sonic presentations. The triode power rating is about 20 W.
An output transformer that is an exact replica of the Dynaco A431S used in the original Dynaco Mk III amplifier. The power transformer is conservatively rated and can deliver the current required for maximum power output. Soft startup is assured through use of a 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier tube.
A driver module based on the Mapletree Special Red SR-70 board developed for the Dynaco ST-70. It employs octal tubes in a Mullard-type circuit with 6SJ7 pentode voltage amplifier and a 6SN7 long-tail phase inverter.
Wide frequency response: 20 Hzā20 kHz ā1 dB at 50 W output.
Adjustable fixed bias for optimum performance with any matched pair of output tubes.
Stainless steel chassis and high quality components and hardware used throughout

It might seem like an oxymoron, Michael, but it's "fixed bias" (i.e. from a separate -ve bias supply to the grids <which can be adjustable...>, with cathodes grounded) versus "automatic" or cathode bias, where there is a cathode resistor, bypassed with a capacitor or not, which with anode current makes it positive to the otherwise grounded grid, being fed from the previous stage ... something like that? So, potentially adjustable 'fixed bias' vs 'automatic' so called cathode bias, and so on. Then you get into realms of ... regulating and automatically adjusting cathode bias in output valves to be equal. Potentially quite expensively! www.hificollective.co.uk/index.php/components/tentlabs-negative-bias-supply-module.htmlAnd there have been other approaches to balancing the currents in push-pull output stages... Thanks to Colin F ... I've built but not yet tested or implemented his suggestion for the old Wurlitzer amp yet ...
