I have for sale a music server. It is housed in a Streacom FC8alpha fanless case. Accompanying the case are the cooling accessories which have never been fitted as they have not been necessary with the low powered, low heat, atom based Jetway 9F9C-2800 motherboard. The OS is on a 32gb Lexar c-fast card, and is the Snakeoil OS which I found to be excellent. Ram is provided by 2 DMS single sided 4gb sticks. There is also a SOtM PCI USB card which has been further optimised by replacing all the caps and regulators with high quality parts. Port 1 has been replaced too and the molex removed and replaced with connector which allows direct attachment of the power wires. All of these mods have been discussed widely as being of significant benefit. There is a 1gb Samsung Evo SSD which is loaded with about 700gb of flac files of a broad range of music.
I will include 2 power cables, 1 for the hdd and 1 for the sotm usb card. They have high quality XLR 3 point connectors which I used with a Gieseler power supply.
Not included are any power supplies. You will need a 12v supply for the motherboard, another 12v for the usb card and a 5v for the ssd. I have used a HD-Plex and then a Gieseler for this.
The parts for this were more than $2000 new. The PCI card is rare and getting rarer, and better for sound quality than the PCIe ones that replaced it.
You can use a variety of OS's with this . I have run it with Vortexbox on an ssd(couldn't get it to work from the c-fast card), Daphile and Snakeoil.
