Michael Fremer reviews the recently launched MkII version of Oracle's entry-level turntable. The MkII updates appear to be: - a new motor (16vac) - new tonearm cueing mechanism US$2000 MSRP - Turntable only US$2350 MSRP - pre-fitted with either the Ortofon 2M Blue or MC Turbo 1 (high output) cartridge Black or white plinth, with numerous colour 'insert' options....

is it just me that finds little appeal in some high end manufacturers' low cost models ?
the sme model 10/15 is another that gives me the blahs.

Absolutley the older decks rock, i love the Micro Seiki range especially the DDX-1000 & 1500

Yes, definitely older decks rock... .. the turntable part itself looks fine on those.. but the arms look plain cheap..

the original was a fine piece of engineering that hasn't been improved much by subsequent updates. 634 times better than a linn !
