Of Plinius fame and now of PureAudio, posted in the AudioEnz forum, about 2013-14, that having just refurbished a 2100i for someone, he advertised his availability to work on the early Plinius integrated amps he had been involved with, depending on workload.
Anyone know if Gary is still available for such work? I don't know if he has joined this forum yet.

I'm not aware that Gary is onboard here - much too busy with Pure Audio I'd say. However, he has always been helpful & is most welcome - if someone happens to be in contact with him

AFAIK GM never set up a service network nor did he draw up any service documentation. Ross Stevens provided Soundline in Wellington with some information but it was more along the lines of technical doodlings rather than full schematics or manuals.

The main thing a repairer would like to refer to would be circuit diagrams. I’m assuming they existed else even manufacturing would be a nightmare.
I can’t remember if I read it on this forum or elsewhere but the “IP” was sold as part of the liquidation for around $12000? after the business couldn’t be sold as a going concern.
Haven’t heard of the buyer coming to light but they would likely have the circuit designs.
Correct me on any of these details.

The reason I'm asking is because a couple of us here have hum with our tonearms. Mine is with my FR64fx on my 401, no hum with my SME3 on my SP10/2. Friends arm is a carbon fibre fancy one, imported. Have tried all sorts of earthing. 2 others here in the club also have the LV1 with no problems. And our LV1's are good in their systems as well. It's ok if not listening at loud volumes. I bought an Arcam phono stage for the 401 as it's mainly a backup ttable. No hum with the Arcam, but it's not as good as the LV1 of course!!

Hum with the LV1 in circuit ?
I've never had hum with any PA phono preamps in my system.
Sounds like a redux of the old Plinius days when stuff would measure perfectly but hum in some systems and not others.
I did wonder why the PA range didn't have a ground lift switch.
Maybe ask Simon Brown who adapted the LV1 for his Wand phono stage.
