Continuing the Russian theme.
I am a non-recovering audioholic, and Ivor is my higher power.

Women and HiFi...
[these are extras and out-takes from the Ken Barnes film "Greek Audiophiles" which used to be on youtube albeit at a lo-res format, now gone.]
I'm sure I have a downloaded version of the lo-res GA, still very watchable.
The first needle drop on a mega turntable was of Diana Krall doing a Tom Waits' Temptation" cover.
It hooked me, I had to find it. Which I did, but it wasn't the first track on any of hers - film fakery.
But the audio was good... . . .
Hey, I've just found the doco on Vimeo!

5 years ago I thought I might be going too far when I found, on closing Firefox, this: Tonight, to my surprise ;- was this the reason the browser was getting a bit slow? Of course, restarting, all the tabs are unloaded until one clicks on one. So it doesn't impact performance until... Of course, I should bookmark the lot in a folder named as today's date, or otherwise clean up, remove duplicates. Kind of fun, but quite a bit to be scrolling through! :- There are various tab manager add-ons, of course. Anyone else here have similar experiences? ;->

I use the same tab when browsing a site, not open a new one each page/time, so don't experience your dilemma.

How did you end up with so many open tabs ?
If you didn't know, about a week ago the latest version of Firefox (V89) was released with even more tidying up and a cleaner UI.

I use the same tab when browsing a site, not open a new one each page/time, so don't experience your dilemma. It's not a dilemma.
I just saw the round number, and thought to take a screenshot ;=})
I certainly open new tabs off a list or index, like from a search or content index of a complex technical site, so that I can quickly asses whether relevant, close if not. Means I don't have to reload the whole index or search results going back if I'd just clicked on one, although indeed it might have opened in a new tab anyway. But yes within a site it's easier to use the same tab too, often.
The earlier one was from a Win XP PC indeed 5 years ago, I'd saved it in the amusing pics folder and copied over.
The thing is, I browse many sites, often have simultaneous or concurrent research queries going on, as well as just catching up with blogs, and do bookmark, but... Sometimes the system can become overloaded.
There are interesting and even humorous takes on this:
Like this one:
And the slacker spinoff article, meh.
Anyway, I get by, but it's an interesting paradigm between merely scrolling tabs in Firefox or digging through bookmarks.
Chrome (or Chromium on Linux) is hopeless in that it doesn't allow you to horizontally scroll tabs as Firefox does. They just get smaller, up to 25? or so, and then start to drop off the list. Of course there are add-ons to help with that. I do have one.
But Chrome/Chromium does allow you to save a PDF from a page, which can be handy.
I'm seeing favourable reviews of Vivaldi browser, which I haven't tried yet.
But with the down arrow at the right on Firefox I can quickly scroll back to what I was researching 6 months ago, even if it hasn't been re-loaded yet.
Still, yeah, I ought to tidy it all up a bit! ;=})

Time ... easy! ;=}) As above.
Yes, I got the latest FF 89 quite quickly through the updates for MXLinux (XFCE) which I'm writing through this box on.
I'm not complaining, just remarking!

You can have groups within your tabs in Chrome now! You can also click Tab on the menu bar at the top and you can scroll through all your open tabs.

A friend has that set. It sounds very good for digitals, much better sound than the stereo re-issues I borrowed from the library. Albeit the digital consistency across the albums lends it a samey sound, I prefer analogue lucky dip. Telligly, when wants to listen to RS he pulls out his SACDs. The Beatles Mono box remains the peak of big record company reissues.
Might have been a fluke though, subsequent Beatles 50 Anniversaries etc have been varying degrees of awful.

I ended up with two of those Beatles Mono vinyl boxsets (long story, ended up only paying for one), so sold the spare one for retail cost. Rumours are they're going to reissue the mono boxset but with no frills to save on costs.

For the record I should admit to already owning the beatles mono box set as well as each of the individual albums (a few of which are UK mono originals), several compilations and an assortment of beatles themed albums such as James Last plays the Beatles,The beatles as played by a Mariachi band, Chet Atkins picks the Beatles etc.
The reason I dont play the Beatles is that I am of an age where they are virtually imprinted into my psyche and therefore unlistenable.
I also think that some of their albums (Sgt Pepper in particular) are hopelessly overated.

He has a point... There was never James Last plays the Doors or Rolling Stones ? Seems eventually everything gets re-issued, except George Michael's Older

Without looking, I'm pretty sure I have both a Celtic and jazz reinterpretation of Pink Floyd, I think Dark Side of the Moon. I know there is a covers thread somewhere, but I'd have to go look for the music, and the thread... Also Enrico Rava covering Michael Jackson... And many wonderful covers of Le Beatles. Solo piano included. But you're right, not too many covers of the Doors or Rolling Stones! Still, every few years, I can enjoy a Beatles track. But you're right, again. Mostly - no, many imprinted (Can the imprints be improved, have alternates, without being overwritten?) Yes I think so. I can keep my first memories and still have my later ones. Sunday School Beatles, Abbey Rd. But that's OK. New versions or covers might make for reassessments, or stand on their own merits. Good to hear them in better quality again after all those years too though; can it refresh the mind? ;=})) Cheers! Oops! It's a humour thread, so, er, ah
Let It Be !
