You get a better sound, it's powered by the iPhone, you don't have to carry a separate music player around (Digital Audio Player) & can still answer ph calls.
The Audioquest DragonFly Black sounds better, works on ios & Android & USB, but costs more (US$99) & you need to get a USB-Lightning adaptor cord.
