Nah, a TX-1000 doesn't even come close to the description of over engineered visual masterpiece ..... A Kronos, Thorens Reference, or something of similar ilk..is more what I would consider fitting that descriptor
But this is getting light years away from the post topic.........hardly affordable !

Cooks has already waved his nose over that one Indeed, I have sniffed, and drooled a little, but I dont think it would fit on my rack, certainly no room for the Wand arm that I could see. Back to reading about speakers.

Spotted on RMAF 2018 coverage, was the Audio Technica AT-LP7 turntable which retails in NZ for $1699. This tidy looking TT features not only a VM520EB elliptical stylus MM cartridge, but also an in-built MM and MC phono stage.

Let me add also the Marantz TT-15S1, a Clearaudio in disguise really, who seems like a pretty good value at around 1200 Euros including a super cartridge. The AnalogueWorks Zero frustrates me however as I had noticed it when it had come out (and was planning on purchasing it), it was around 700GBP if I remember correctly and a favourable Stereophile review double its price overnight to 1500 GBP (sans arm).

Also to note the turntable that Schit is working on and it's also going to be super-affordable.

I happened to spot a Marantz TT-15 S1 in a shop window at True Sound in HK early this year. Opal acrylic plinth, acrylic platter, platter clamp, Clearaudio Virtuoso Ebony Wood MM cartridge. (NZ$2499)

I would think that the biggest competitor to any of these tables is the availability of good used turntables for similar or less money ?
