Why the digital display and glowing buttons on the 33... I loved the colour combo of the original 33, why couldn't they lightly refresh that.

I liked the look of the old 33/30 but the sound was meh. Awful on the old ESL57's

Yes not the best sounding gear, but the old 33/303 looked cool

Let's not confuse today's market-place with that of the past.
I sincerely doubt too many people complained about the sound of the 33/303 when it was launched in 1967. Singer/songwriter at: www.dominicblaazer.net

Yes, I loved the style of the 33 preamp.
I'm sure modern (Chinese) Quad will be on to it sound wise. My understanding is that the 303 was way better soundign than most early transisitor amps and didn't burst into flames either. Simon Brown
