Thanks to who ever the instigators are of this forum, it coincides nicely with my manic slide back into chronic audiophilia.....

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, used to be on AudioEnz forum from time to time, occasional contributor to Tone magazine, used to be a hi-fi dealer in the old YooKay, done some design work with companies that will remain un-named... Kids have left home, so I have tuppence a week more and space for my insanity. Actually, although I used to be a Linn dealer, I have only this year purchased my first Sondek (a box of bits basically). Inherited some vinyl, (have piles of LP's sitting all around the world that I have left behind, so getting back into the delicious nuttiness. Actually, I have several systems. In my office is a Garrard Lab 80 (idler wheel), stripped, modded and placed into a giant plywood plinth. Tonearm is a 12 inch carbon fibre unipivot (fun setting one of those up - had never done it before) - actually sounds great, with its huge Perspex cover I had made I call it "The Seismograph". Switch between a Linn K18 and Denon 103 MC. This feeds into a Cambridge Audio Phono amp, and then to some odd Toob thing. Digital front end is an old iMac with a dragonfly dac, quite sweet for the monies! Speakers, variously, are a 1/4 wave floorstander I was involved in developing, Linn Kans etc. In the Lounge is the afromosia fluted (1974?!) Sondek with Basik power supply (soon to be a Hercules Mose or similar), with corner plinth mods, top plate bolt mod, nirvana kit, new arm board, Pro-ject Carbon arm, Denon 103 or Linn K18 cartridge. Also looking for a newer bearing/chassis like Cirkus kit if anyone has one lying around... This feeds into a Linn Akurate DSM (Digital Streamer and Pre amp), and on to 2 Linn 5125 power amps with active cards fitted to suit the Linn Espek Speakers. I have systems in the dining room and bedroom of course, more on those later. Too much and I will need extra meds...

Hey Linn Boy welcome buddy, Yep, no messing around down South...we know the value of a good active system. incl. that there's no substitute for clean horsepower: i.e. 2 x Linn 5125s = 500w/8ohms? and 2 x Sanders Magtechs = 500w/8ohms

French, coloured, disabled, alcoholics, politicians, Linn users : everybody's welcome!
(I'm feeling particularly stroppy today as I have just this morning taken delivery of two minty Technics SL1210 Mk5g's )
