Share your album recommendations from the past year, so that I can check them out.
Top 5? Or even just Best one?
Would love to know what tickled your fancy.

Even the "new" music I discover is decades old.

It's not been a year of new music for me but more taking the opportunity to finally pick up some cd releases that have been on my want list for some time, more than a decade for one.
Jethro Tull- Living in the Past, mobile fidelity double set which is the only one to combine all the tracks from the original UK and USA releases. Most expensive cd I've purchased.
Caravan- In the Land of Grey and Pink. Three disc set with outtakes etc and higher rez DVD audio.
Tim Bownes/Samuel Smiles-World of Bright Futures. Been after this for a very long time. Kept hanging out for a promised reissue from Burning Shed to no avail so finally have a supposedly mint copy coming from Sweden. Still a few left on my want list but really nothing that demands immediate action.
On the new cd front picked up the first 4 Santana reissues in the 7" format. Love the packaging and attention to detail in these reissues. Toying whether I should get the just released Welcome in the same series.
Best new supplier Record city Japan. You do have to read their listings carefully but everything I've purchased so far has been fine. A bit of a trap for me chasing Japanese promo cds.
First year in at least a couple of decades when I've purchased no LPs or added to the hifi gear. Music collection has gone from a high of 3400 to current 1677.

In no particular order,
The Handsome Family -- Hollow Allison Russell -- The Returner Jeb Loy Nichols -- United States of the Broken Hearted The Wood Brothers -- Heart is the Hero Joe Henry -- All the eye can see - (thanks Foveaux)
All very nicely produced and respond well to an extra notch or two on the volume nob.

The special "do not play when under the influence or else you'll dance around the room like a loon and fall over and break something" prize goes to side 1 (only) of Built to Spill -- When the wind knows your name.

A highlight for me is Arooj Aftab, Vijay Iyer, Shahzad Ismaily - Love In Exile
Urdu vocalist, meets jazz pianist, meets multi-instrumentlist, all in perfect harmony!

Toto - Tambu (1995). Faure - Nocturnes and Barcarolles M-A Hamelin (2023). And - Stanley Clarke - Standards - I discovered on Spotify - which would be good to have on cd or lp:
