Apparently some lucky folks have received their Jan Issue of Stereophile which includes Michael Trei's review of the Wand 14-4 turntable. Unfortunately they didn't send it to us before publication as they usually do as it was close to print date. So I haven't seen it yet and as the proud parent I'm keen to see it! (Not on line yet) Could anyone who has got it, send me a scan or photo on info@designbuildlisten.com I know is is probably quite good as Michael has asked to hang on to it to use for some cartridge reviews... Cheers Simon

Thanks to those who passed the review on. My copy has now come and Michael Trei (the reviewer) has sent through a copy. [We didn't get a chance to comment before it went to print as per normal practice] So a great review but with caviets! For me as well as the reviewer Michael Trei's caviet was to talk up the Installation of the arm being 'difficult'. The only thing he specifically mentions is the metal protractor, fortunately the new acrylic one I have been working on for some time is already on the way to him along with the new 'Series B' sliding arm mount which addresses the remnant of Art Dudlys issues (available now, I'm just waiting on photography for the formal release) But beyond that, he loved the sound and has asked to hang on to it for a bit longer to review some cartridges (so obviously not that painful...) So some quotes (Briefly, as I have to type them longhand) When it was all done, all the pain and struggle was forgotten as I fell into the music....the Wand's extraordinary ability to present the vivid shades of a rich tonal palette, each instrument sounding remarkably realistic and true. I have never before heard Gary Peacock's recorded sound presented with such clarity and vividness.(and Michael has used / owns some pretty top flight turntables) The Wand excels in areas I consider fundamentalto musical enjoyment, such as tonal colour and timing. The Wand will extract the most from your cartridge. So this is just the beginning as he has yet to try the EV Battery supply and new carbon fibre mat (and new Iso-kit feet) Watch this space

Apparently Caviet is a fungicide, so yes beware of the caviets.
