Wow, I keen to hear it too! any of those amps would be great. A hard choice of Class A transistor or valve, they both have their advantages, depends on what is in Santa's secret speaker sack. Roll on this time next week

And even ahead of the needle drops - what well recorded music examples are in consideration? Hopefully some well recorded acoustic music in there - ? Jazz, classical, world, and beyond? Will there be a same CD for comparison too?
And yes, the speakers synergy with the amplifiers (and the room) will play a role.

I'd thought I was going to be able to attend, but the friend I was going to go with had something come up, had to cancel. Too far to East Tamaki from the CBD without private transport! Maybe another time. Is that visible speaker in the last pic the Klipsch Cornwall IV ? I see a couple of arms on top of it. But also an odd small speaker. Simon appears to be illustrating a fine line stylus in a groove, with his hands...
Cheers! ;=})

No problem, we had a great crowd last night, The small speaker on top is actually a fyne 502SP behind the Cornwall 😉 We listened to a range of Hana cartridges, starting from the EL and finishing on the Umami The Umami is something very special, the tone and speed is superb We will have one fitted to the WAND arm in a few weeks, and the combo will be on demo permanently at Rapallo for those who wanted to hear it but couldn't make it last night Thanks again to Simon and everyone who attended last night

The Umami is something very special, the tone and speed is superb ...I daren't listen to the Umami...for fear of deeper overdraft. (n.b. have an SL and ML in the stable, so an Umami might, il/logically , complete the set)

Wand / Hana Demo; Wellington Audio Club 8th June 7.30pmJust a further heads up with room details / reminder; Next week I'm bringing Wand Analogue and Hana products to Wellington Audio Club. You don't have to be a member, just come along to the School of Music; Room B209 Gate 7 Kelburn Pde Like the Rapallo demo, I'll bring three arm wands with Hana EL, ML and Umami Red cartridges. All playing on The Wand 14-4 turntable through The Wand EQ phono (and the club system of TVC volume control, Parasound power amp and Thiel 1.2 speakers) I'll also sneak in some Les Davis products halfway through.

Thanks! (Had to check Google translate that you weren't calling me fat ) Ha .... Like me, you've probably been called many things over the years ..... but I very much doubt "fat" was one of them.

Thanks! Actually I was a bit grumpy that they printed it without me approving the artwork and I had already asked for some changes. So different, smaller ad next week...

I could deny it but my nose would grow to 14in long! Yes, it is a custom collaboration with Genesis for their no-holds-barred turntable. This is a serious 100kg+ turntable (and I am guessing $1US per kg...) The whole rack of gear is required with separate boxes comprising: Motor controller, dual mono phono amps and a power supply which is a motor-generator set! On demo last weekend at Capital Audiofest (Washington DC) with Ortofon Anna cart.

Thanks Citroen, Well spotted, I might have to send him some new bits as that one has just celebrated it's 8th birthday A teaser... Very busy working on new stuff for Munich (Where I will be in the DeVore room with turntables. Also probably one of my arms on a TechDAS turntable in the room of my German Distributor IBEX.) Simon
