You set the gold standard Mr C. My sole 2022 release was Past Imperfect, a double cd best of from Tindersticks.
I have picked up some reissues but no vinyl. These days chasing mainly Japanese CDs and sacd. Stuck in a '60s/'70s time loop. It was embarrassing going through the items I was listing on TM and finding how many I hadn't played more than once,if that

Will mull over a best of reissues for 2022.

Impressive. All soundtracks except the Coltrane! Which I forgot about in my list, and while the stereo and mono both sound superb, they don't make it to my memorable releases, as I had totally forgotten about them...

Soundtracks are the only ones I remember... Coltrane bec. they sound better than my old WRC, I wasn't going to get them them but then JB Sale The Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section Craft RSD re-issue was OK but my Jap SHMCD sounds better.

I discover almost none of the music I acquired in 22 was not originally released in 22, is it time to pre-book the retirement cottage?
enjoyed new releases from 22
- Punch Bros - Hell on Church St. (albeit a cover of a covering of covers) - Cowboy Junkies - Songs of the Recollection (albeit their usual covers schtick) - Lyle Lovett - 12th of June (oh, bugger, there's covers on this too) - Andy Partridge - My Failed Songwriting Career, Volume 2 (ok, Ok, old songs but first outing) - Sean Rowe - The Darkness Dressed in Colored Lights (No Covers!)
enjoyed re-releases from 22
- Finn Brothers - Finn - XTC - Mummer - Paul Buchanan - Mid Air
The how did I miss this first time around discoveries for 22
- Natalie Merchant - Motherland - Ketama/Toumani Diabate/Danny Thompson - Songhai - Hampshire & Foat - Galaxies like Grains of Sand - Parker Milsap - The Very Last Day
Best 2nd hand score of the year
- Waltz for Debbie. 1962 NZ Mono. Got given it for free from a 2nd hand dealer because the disc looked so filthy. I could see it was all surface muck. A few runs through the Degritter and it now rates as EX/EX. Thought I'd done OK .. then I looked at Discogs.
Biggest "meh" purchase for 22
- Dozens of them.

And so I bought it, unheard, from Marbecks.
Played it a couple of times now so far, interesting, not quite what I was expecting, but still something to keep and play again.
