Anyone know of a local supplier. I have tried a couple of shops without a result. The Hana cart needs longer bolts to mount properly and i probably need to use the spacer that Simon supplied so that I can reset my arm lift. The SL rides lower than the Dyna and dropping the arm down to set VTA means I've basically disengaged the full range of the arm lift other wise the stylus doesn't contact the lp. The cart did come with bolts but they're too short and the replacements I've found while allowing me to mount the cart just aren't long enough. I'd need a shank length of around 15mm and I think the bolt diameter is 2.5mm. Any leads appreciated.

cooksferry - I should have a couple that I can post to you. 15mm allows for the nuts & some tolerance? What material are the Hana screws? Stainless?

I'm pretty sure I used to have about a million of these things from back in the day when you got a couple of sets with each cart, but recently I've struggled to find the right ones too. Does anyone know of a good supply ?

The best place now for this sort of stuff is Aliexpress. You want M2.5 x whatever length, machine screws + nuts Head - Hex socket head (stainless), pan head (brass) Material - stainless steel is most common, but brass sounds better (truly ) IMHO. You nay have to buy 100pcs but cost will be pocket money. Free shipping generally, but it takes maybe 3wks to arrive - but it does. eg www.aliexpress.com/item/50pcs-Lot-a2-70-DIN912-M1-6-m2-m2-5-m3-stainless-Steel-Hex-Socket-Head/32808605228.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.126.sDTDkm&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_436_10136_10137_10157_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_100032_100033_100031_10099_10103_10102_10096_10147_10052_10053_10050_10107_10142_10051_10084_10083_10119_10080_10082_10081_10110_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_10181_10183_10182_10185_10078_10079_10073_10123_10120-10120,searchweb201603_9,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=02ae8d5d-80da-4644-aa32-5db5677b3691&algo_expid=189e8042-64a7-4ce1-89df-dcae4e697b76-17&algo_pvid=189e8042-64a7-4ce1-89df-dcae4e697b76 www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-ISO7380-M5-8-M5x8-Stainless-Steel-Hex-Hexagon-Socket-Button-Head-Pan-Head-Screw/1846309705.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.76.sDTDkm&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_436_10136_10137_10157_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_100032_100033_100031_10099_10103_10102_10096_10147_10052_10053_10050_10107_10142_10051_10084_10083_10119_10080_10082_10081_10110_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_10181_10183_10182_10185_10078_10079_10073_10123_10120-10120,searchweb201603_9,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=02ae8d5d-80da-4644-aa32-5db5677b3691&algo_expid=189e8042-64a7-4ce1-89df-dcae4e697b76-10&algo_pvid=189e8042-64a7-4ce1-89df-dcae4e697b76 www.aliexpress.com/item/M2-5-Brass-Round-Head-Cross-recessed-pan-head-Machine-Screws-Brass-Round-Head-Screw-M2/1919625723.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_436_10136_10137_10157_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_100032_100033_100031_10099_10103_10102_10096_10147_10052_10053_10050_10107_10142_10051_10084_10083_10119_10080_10082_10081_10110_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_10181_10183_10182_10185_10078_10079_10073_10123_10120-10119,searchweb201603_9,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=13c8ec4c-efba-485e-8614-78b8fe3b7219&algo_expid=490f187a-a570-4daa-90e5-f5dc2e698824-5&algo_pvid=490f187a-a570-4daa-90e5-f5dc2e698824

The bolts I'm using at the moment are 10mm long(plus head) and I need another 2mm or so to allow for the spacer so 15mm should give me breathing room. The bolts at the moment are x_Dynavector so I'm sure they're stainless. Thanks for the offer Owen but maybe I should try our local super hardware shop as well as they carry a range of very small hobby bolts nuts etc in brass. www.ehayes.co.nz/

Thanks for the links Owen. I would never have thought to look on Ali.

I buy a lot of my cheap Chinese produced electronics from Ali. Direct from source.
At least half, usually a quarter and sometimes a tenth the nz price for the exact same thing.
Just expect to wait 3-4 weeks posted.

do you guys use philips head screws for cartridges ? i like the brass ones owen gave me. but hate fiddling with tiny nuts. my preference now is for a cartridge with tapped holes

Maybe we need a group buy of something like these?.... www.aliexpress.com/item/100pcs-DIN7985-M2-M2-5-M3-Brass-Round-Pan-head-machine-screws/32789821364.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10152_10065_10151_10068_436_10136_10137_10157_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_100032_100033_100031_10099_10103_10102_10096_10147_10052_10053_10050_10107_10142_10051_10084_10083_10119_10080_10082_10081_10110_10175_10111_10112_10113_10114_10181_10183_10182_10185_10078_10079_10073_10123_10120-10053_10152_10151_10113_10120,searchweb201603_9,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=6f6bc78e-f9a4-4407-a42d-af9d281a5a2c&algo_expid=91a8d1b7-203a-4da7-918f-9474492f4e9f-9&algo_pvid=91a8d1b7-203a-4da7-918f-9474492f4e9f

Brass is not as easy to source & tends to come in either slotted or Philips/pozidrive head. Stainless are mostly hex socket head. I use 10mm & also 16mm, 20mm length. What lengths do people use? michaelw - I would have thought that a hex allen key would have been easier to manipulate under the h'shell? Or, do you remove the 345 h'shell?

single slot in the samples you sent me.
i take the headshell off when using nuts + bolts.
it can stay on with tapped cartridges.
not as easy to remove as a japanese style headshell as the sme is held in under tension and requires you to push the headshell back against the armtube in order to get the locking bolt out.

Ah yes, those were NZ sourced plain brass screws, which had 'cheese' heads that were rather large for some cartridges - so the heads have been hand-filed down by moi!
