Show off! I'm currently listening on this... Which I cobbled together this morning out of some rubbish I had in the corner of the garage to listen to while I work on the Golf... Consists of: HP laptop into the guts of an old ipod dock for pre, Logitech sub (dampened, sealed and driver reversed to fire inward) and some $5 tip-shop Technics SB-CD950s which are obviously perfect for listening to Spotify as they proudly proclaim 'Digital Response' on the cabinets... whatever that means? But seriously, lovely system mate. Can we get some bigger, better pics? More pics and info on TT?

TT photos may have to wait as my photography foo seems to have left the building or something else is up as those photos looked ok on my desktop....
What can I say about the TT? It's made in the Czech Republic is seriously hi mass, it weighs about 45kgs the platter alone is 15kgs, and it sounds bloody brilliant!!!

Excellent stuff, good to see what you folks are up to.... Show off! I'm currently listening on this... That sounds pretty resourceful to me - we need to cannabilise an old ipod dock & graft onto an old preamp here at our place. What's the thinking around reversing the sub drivers? As you may have discovered already - click on the thumbnails to see the full size images. Setting the standard so far for most risqué avatar - I expect no less from Reverend Heathen

I'm a big fan of mag-lev feet under TTs. The TT is Czech & the Canor phono stage is a neighbouring Slovakian product I see - coincidental? A real tidy system. And room setup. Thks.

I first heard EMT carts when I lived in Germany and when a friend said I could have his I jumped. The combination of TT and phono stage was pure coincidence, sound first...

Sorry Owen missed this...
The middle rack is an old Soundstyle thing I've had for ages with birch ply shelves used mainly because it's the only thing I have that is strong enough for the TT. The other two are finite elemente pagodas which I was offered second hand for a very reasonable price and they all stand on black painted concrete paving stones for a bit of stability on wobbly NZ wooden floors.

Hi @mike A - the Finite Elemente Pagode rack, with its tunable 'resonators', received top reviews when it came out. Stereophile raved esp about the Cera ball feet - "jaw-dropping" they said! If you have any of these feet options installed, I would try the TT on it (experimentally at least). Or, even better, the Ceraballs/Cerapucs/Cerabases under the TT itself. Cheers.

Owen, the Finite Elemente Pagode shelves are limited to about 25kgs so dumping a 45kg TT on it didn't seem like a good idea.
I am looking for a better rack for it but other things keep sucking the money away and there are very few racks big enough to hold what is a very big TT, and what there is is very expensive.

Hmmm yes of course. Maybe try Ceraballs (or similar) under the TT. I like the Mag-lev feet, I find that they work well. Cheers.

All sorts of things I'd like to try but most of my time is spent trying to sort the room acoustics out when I can tear myself away from listening!

Would love to see or know what your journey has been with room acoustics.
Absorption or diffraction? DIY or professional?

Still experimenting as I've only been in this house for a few months, that means strategically placed bits of carpet on walls, bass traps behind the speakers, heavy curtain behind the system and a large absorbtion panel thing on the wall behind my chair.
Once I'm happy with the sound the carpet will be jettisoned and proper panels introduced.
