The time has come where I need to start getting rid of some of Dad's gear. I thought I'd post here before listing on TM etc. If you are interested, please feel free to make me a reasonable offer. Trans-fi Salvation Turntable with Terminator Arm - $4000 ono
Full setup, no cartridge, custom arm mount, pump etc. Aura turntable - $SOLD
Complete, includes a bunch of arm boards and maybe spare motor from memory. Dad was a bit of a historian when it came to the Aura TT, he has a folder which has a lot of info, wiring schematics, diagrams etc, much of which he got directly from Dave Whittaker. I had considered letting this go with the TT but I have decided to digitise and put everything online for free download. I assume this info will be important to keep these Auras operational. FR-64S tonearm - $2350 ono FR-12 tonearm (Silver leads) + FR-S/6 Headshell - $SOLD
Counterweight has some tarnishing but should polish up nicely. Kenwood L-07D arm - $SOLD
The build quality on this thing is pretty amazing, beautifully machined. Includes cable. Hadcock GH-228 Super Arm x2 - $1000 ono
There's two boxes, one of them looks complete but I'm not sure about the other one so they will go together. Perreaux TC2 Tone Control - $SOLD Keith Monks Record Cleaning Machine - $SOLDPretty sure Dad serviced this and it was in semi regular use. Wharfedale drivers 4x15", 2x12" - reasonable offers
Not sure if these are really worth anything, look to be in good condition. I'm sure most of you guys will be aware but Dad wrote extensively about a lot of this gear on his blog darklanternforowen.wordpress.com/I've uploaded a whole lot more of pictures here: imgur.com/a/tGE8OcV

Jeremy, I think it's an excellent idea to make Owen's Aura file available. It will complete the interesting history on the turntable on his blog. I look forward to reading it. Mike

I'm not making offers, Jeremy;- this is just for reference. (Is it possible to find further info?)
Owen did mention Wharfedale speakers here:
"Dave Whittaker built 2 pairs of those huge GRF Autographs but I remember preferring the airiness & openness of his 3-way 15" Wharfedale Airdales."
And here's that post in its thread context.

I've wondered whether he might have been contemplating a Wharfedale Econowave variant, or even open baffle works.
When you get a chance to inspect them again, how about recording the drivers, identifications, and posting them too?
Are they domestic or PA units. (Used to be Public Address but maybe now more like professional audio?)

I was horrified to hear of his death, and sad too that I'd missed his funeral, despite it being only a few suburbs away. Circumstances. But still.
I've only just now caught up with and downloaded the funeral service photos and eulogies at although I'd read it from years earlier.
Maybe his blog could have a more prominent place in the forum?

Thanks, and kind regards;=})

Hi Ross, Hmm too be honest I don't think he had a plan for them, maybe just some pieces he picked up at auctions or soemthing. There are some pictures of the back plates at the bottom of the imgur link I posted above.

I reckon you should fit the FR-64 (or the Kenwood) to the SP10 for a visual and sonic match.

Did Owen have a Wand tonearm at some stage or was it just a review sample ?

Ah, thanks;- I'd looked at that link but didn't notice or click on the "Load 35 more images" button until now. Yes I see . They do look quite old, antique even. Maybe list them in TradeMe Vintage? Somewhere maybe still packed I have an early book by Gilbert A. Briggs on Wharfedale speakers.
This search link might even provide more info, including perhaps some pdf extracts, individual speaker reviews etc.
Hope that helps! Cheers ~

Did Owen have a Wand tonearm at some stage or was it just a review sample ? I think he had a very early one on loan for a period from simonb . More recently we discussed getting one to put on one of my SL-1210 MK2s though.

The time has come where Mum is likely to be moving and I need to start shifting more of Dad's things. First up are the following: Deca ‘Super Gold’ cart with ‘Decapod’ mod, with box etc - $1200 ono
A uniquely designed cartridge which I think this was one of Dad's current favourites, it was mounted on the Terminator arm when he passed. Info here: darklanternforowen.wordpress.com/2020/07/03/london-decca-cartridge-decapod/FR-64S tonearm which looks to be in very good condition. - $2200 ono
There is a cable but looks to have been modified, most importantly, the plugs are there and in good condition. Fostex T90A super-tweeters, in good condition with original packaging. - $600 onoSome images here imgur.com/a/b7tfTLm. FR-64S was a bit dusty when I took the photos but I dusted it off and it looks prestine. Feel free to make a reasonable offer. If not sold they will make their way to FBM/TM Cheers, Jeremy
