I enjoy 'The River and the Thread' - I'm still stuck in that Sthern groove.

Cant say the same for Black Cadillac unfortunately... Mine arrived a couple of weeks back, played once it's fairly unmemorable..

Cant say the same for Black Cadillac unfortunately... Mine arrived a couple of weeks back, played once it's fairly unmemorable.. Played my copy several times, have to agree, not a sonic marvel. I thought part of the problem may be in the length, nearly 47minutes which means the sides are getting a little crowded but others have managed longer with better results. I've also found that her vocal quality changes on some tracks. Some definitely sound better than others and the title track would be a prime offender. Shame, the River and the Thread is much better and Black Cadillac deserves to be up there as well. This is one of the Capitol at 70 reissues. The other I've been keeping an eye out for is Rumor and Sigh but I'll likely just stick with my original and the Mobile Fidelity instead.

Yes would have to admit my disappointment with that one, was hoping for a repeat of River and the Thread, or Kings record shop, both of which are pretty good sounding albums. Lucky you having an original Rumour and Sigh !

Yes would have to admit my disappointment with that one, was hoping for a repeat of River and the Thread, or Kings record shop, both of which are pretty good sounding albums. Lucky you having an original Rumour and Sigh ! I was fortunate and picked up a near mint copy from a seller on Discogs a couple of years back. From memory was around $50 plus freight. The only RT vinyl I'm missing is Mirror Blue. Thought I'd latched onto a nice copy for fair money(well $100) and the Danish seller pulled the pin without explanation. So still looking for that one .
