Having a change of pace after leaving AKL.
I'd though I was up for a CHALLENGE ! so . . I have
A 1000sqm facility filled to the brim with Vintage Hifi & Spare parts ( recently in 2020 gathered 20 pallets from 583 , made up of mostly Allied , Pye , Thorn , AMI/CEI , Autocrat & Philips factories closure inventory. - For those newer people Technics/National , Akai, Prolab , Bell/Majestic/NEC/JVC , Sanyo/Fisher , Hifi International ) Out of this, I plan to create a Sales & Repairs bastion for Enthusiasts & the many items that have gone before. DSE , Stylus & Vinyl sheds included.
Ultimately a Museum or virtual one ( NZhifiengine perhaps ) .
Still lots of mistakes & challenges to be made , fixed & or solved !!!
If its on a computer Database its not Hoarding. !

Sounds amazing, wonderful, and obviously a lot of work ahead, hopefully mostly joyful! ;=}) Cataloguing... ideally you already have lists.
Where did you leave to / arrive at? What's "583"? Stylus and vinyl. The styli collection could be interesting, as even earlier DSE, let alone vinyl.
(I have a couple of full thick A4 ring binders of DSE kits, thrown out when the K' Rd store closed.)
Sheds. Wow. My last flat in K' Rd was ~100sqm I think, a whole top floor, so that's a perspective.
I know what you mean about an nz hif/vinyl engine format, but you might as well be unique, take some time to think about it;-)
Please keep us informed!
Thanks!

Thanks for the encouragement.
We've moved in ( 2020 ) but not open . Currently with 10,000 line items ( millions & millions of parts ). Over 1000 different types of N.O.S. knobs as an example. Over 1km of linear shelving installed + more to come. 1000's valves not yet sorted or tested. A Pallet worth.
Left AKL to Franklin / North Waikato
583 refers to the St number. I'd be interested if anyone else had access - A video of the 4 floor building is on FB & reddit. I got there when 95% had gone so I've estimated there was 400 pallets of Electronic parts. Maybe more than the Tradetech 2017 collapse ? I cleared the building into Demo time. i.e. I was still clearing ( night-time 7pm to 2am ) as the Excavators took apart the place during the day.
Stylus & vinyl inventory is mostly U.S. I've been working with the new/old owners of A.D.C. / Empire + others in the parts closure fields namely Stanton/ Gemini. Some gems have turned up of course.

(Glad for the gen on gems:-)
I'd started to write on styli & valves, NOS, vs testing, customer punt. but cut, too much for now.
Best wishes!

583 whatever street is not a very searchable option. Links might be interesting? Yeah, in my protracted moving out of the last place, the new owner granted extra time, I was working around demolition & new build people.
I got out intact in the end..
