I have a nice Lenco L75 all original in good working condition. Thinking of pursuing a project of mounting the drive unit on a new plinth with a new arm. Has anyone tried in the past and what are your thoughts. I have a spare Grace G707 arm I was hoping to use.

It's worth it and Lenco's can sound great, ok and poor just like all the idlers when put in different plinths. Worth doing a bit of research into the pivot to spindle length of the Lenco arm vs the Grace to see if it will fit in the original mounting hole or if further modification will be required. Also check the overall height as you can run into problems

Plenty have tried and made new plinths and new arm arrangements.
You will have weeks, months, years worth of reading there. ;=})
Perhaps Jon, who I believe is a member there, might offer more specific pointers to threads about both plinths and the Grace arm.

If you need a plinth template: plinthtemplates.wordpress.com/lenco-l75/You should also research how to stiffen the top plate (a known weak point) to eliminate vibration. Good luck and have fun with your journey! And don't forget to post lots of pics.
