This is a shame. I've always wanted to try a pair as I'm yet to hear a bad word about them... Sadly, now is not the time for me. Saw Mr Ball selling off subs on TM a while back and rue not grabbing one at the time.

My first "Hifi" speaker purchase was a pair of Audax 200's in the 80's from a HiFi store in Parnell.
They cost an arm and a leg for a poor student ($800?) but I loved them.

Audax A200:2's.. the first Hi Fi speaker that really made me sit up and listen .. frigging awesome sound for the $$.. that 34mm silk dome tweeter was to die for. About $1495 new I thought Citroen, . I couldn't afford them sadly,( as a similar but clearly poorer student ) but did stretch and buy a pair of Audax AX-15's.. ( 25mm silk dome) which were regarded as poor man's A200's..at $599. Still got them too..although surpassed now, one piece of my Hi-Fi history that I will not part with.

Love my 412.2's,after buying them unheard.Great delight. Chris was great to deal with too.Had/have Celestion SL6S's before the 412's,and it was quite a step up.

Hadn't realized that there was a tie up with Audax. Good to see that he was able to make a living out of doing what he wanted in Audio in NZ !
