Cleaning out a bundle of lps to donate to an Op shop and discovered three copies of Bridge Over Troubled Water, one of which is a NZ press Quadraphonic version. The cover and vinyl are in very nice condition. I'd kick myself if I gave away a potentially semi valuable record to a shop that would then on sell it for a couple of dollars. Loss all round. Question, is there any interest or value in Quad releases currently? www.discogs.com/release/5217486-Simon-And-Garfunkel-Bridge-Over-Troubled-Water

I've got an unofficial NZ DSOTM quad.
There were 2 major vinyl quad formats - discrete 4 channel eg. CD-4 and matrixed eg. CBS SQ, where the surround channels are mixed into the main stereo ones (Dolby used similar tech for their initial Dolby Surround and Pro-Logic products).
Both had separate decoders, I think there were a few that handled both formats ?
Matrix discs can be played back OK on a Dolby Surround system.
Quad vinyl was all but dead by the end of the 70s but it did prompt development of new vinyl formulations and advanced stylus profiles.

256 Queen St has housed a few record stores, as has 246 Queen St but 245 Queen Street in 70's is beyond my memory!
