Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of the early 1980s designed Pierre Lurne J1(Audiomeca) turntable please. These were highly regarded being as they used all kinds of breakthroughs & physics by the designer. I'd certain there must be some of this series in NZ.
I have a friend overseas with one but he has misplaced the power supply & no amount of Googling has thrown up what precisely the DC requirement is by the TT. I understand the DC supply connection is via an XLR-3 for the DC power meaning it could well be a +ve 0V -ve setup.... (and yes i hate the idea of putting DC on connectors that are usually for balanced audio.... ) TIA.

Hi Pete, you could try writing to Pierre and ask him... pierre.lurne@tnt-audio.com Hope it helps. Cheers Mark

I have found the schematic for the external supply. Very simple. There are some handwritten component values but nothing that says what the two zeners D1 & D2 are nor their voltage....

Hi Pete, Post the schematic and we’ll see if we can calculate them.

Hi Pete, Post the schematic and we’ll see if we can calculate them. It's unlikely you can without any info on load etc... There are other blindingly obvious errors in the schematic, the bridge polarity and i question the 10,000uF smoother caps. At the end of the day the J1 needs a split rail derived from center tapped 48V transformer & bridge rectified.
Here's a link to the schematic. (i cannot seem to make the image post here). postimg.cc/YhVKk7hF

Yes rectifier is shown reversed! Do you know what R3 to 6 are? You could also use low voltage ones and step up the voltage with increasing voltage zeners until it works satisfactorily. Do you have a pic of the motor and driver board the power supply is connected to?
