Okay, backstory. I think our TV is finally dying. Colours are horribly jumbled up. For the past 15 or so years we have been spoilt in owning a Loewe CRT. One died, then we picked up another (flatscreen Loewe Mimo) from TM. We use an offboard freeview box and watch other internet TV upstairs, on the Mac.
Whenever we visit anybody whose modern, LED/LCD TV is on, we are always glad to return to ours. Of course, their settings will likely be to blame but smearing and colour saturation look unnatural and shouty to us.
What we buy will not be replaced in two years, as seems to be the norm. Doesn't have to be MASSIVE!!!
So, the big question is, which TV manufacturers out there make decent ones? Who is renowned for the best picture? (We haven't decided new or somebody else's 2-year chuck-out but likely new.)
As you were,
TIA, DD
PS - does anybody still repair decent CRTs like ours?
