Hi All,

I'm putting this out here as there maybe someone that could help with a big issue the London Decca cartridge manufacture is facing.
Below is what I received:

"Dear distributors
For the past two years we have been trying to find someone to make the stylus holder used in all our models.
We have tried a number of countries including China without success. The problem is obtaining annealed mild
steel only 0.036mm thick! Also the large initial cost of the tool to make it. I’m attaching the drawing in case
you might know of someone. It says stainless steel, but that is wrong. It has to be annealed mild steel or
annealed spring steel.
If we cannot find someone able to make them at an affordable cost, we have to stop making cartridges..."

I've attached the plan here in hope that some smart person may have a way of helping to make or a possible contact.

They stipulate that the stylus holder is required to be made of 0.036mm thick annealed mild steel, so a 3D printer is out of the question as they only print plastic.

3D printers have been capable of printing metal for years

You're right as always Michael, I should have googled before I typed!
But the 0.036mm thick annealed mild steel is the secret ingredient required here.

So it seems that 3D printing would help with the tooling costs etc, maybe finding the right steel is now the tricky part.

Not a good candidate for 3d printing.

But surely there's people out there that can make this, I'd be looking at the tool and die or medical industry.

Thanks Tony, the address is correct.

The London boys have a big problem by the sounds of it. They're even tried China but to no avail.
It's a pity they can't adapted to something else that may do the trick. I'll contact Jeremy and see what he has in mind.
