I used to visit a cartoonist friend now deceased who at one time had a pair of RA CG8's in medium size bookshelf cabinets, with a paper cone tweeter, I think. They actually sounded quite good in the place at the time. Later, I accumulated CG12's in large cabinets, also two different versions of CG12, but eventually sold them on. You could create an account at imgbox.com/ and use it to paste uploaded image links here, use - copy - the BB-Code on the far right tab result after uploading. You don't have to accept the defaults for a small 100x100 thumbnail, you can choose larger, and whether comments or not, and in a new gallery or an existing one. It will remember you and your preferences, for free. Or upload photos to TradeMe. You can transfer photos from even an ancient iPhone (mine is a 4S!) via USB to a PC, via iTunes or a 3rd party app, whether Windows Mac or Linux. Learn how.

The Thiele Small parameters for the CG8 (and the CG8T which I think has a whizzer cone) are Q.56, fs 50 hz and Vas 1.819 cub ft. The on-line DIY calculator suggests three possible cabinet designs. The first a sealed box of 3 cubic feet has a f3 of 63hz which is rather high for such a large cabinet so is not really sensible. A ported cabinet of 5.37 cubic feet (about Tannoy MG sized) has a nice low f3 of 31hz and this would be of interest to anyone who either has or can accommodate such a large cabinet. The best compromise I think is a Butterworth B4 alignment which has a cabinet of 3.28 cubic feet tuned by a 3 inch diameter port 2.22 inches long giving an f3 of 36hz.

Yes DYIaudioandvideo which also has the Butterworth B4 alignment. Butterworth works well for low Q speakers like Tannoy. Otherwise they are all the same. I generally add 30% volume to the Thiele Small calculation and tune accordingly.
