Pretty crap Not even close to his usual Rega 3/RB300 The Michell has a new belt and pully, re-plated gold record support thingies, cleaned and restored speed control damping pot. And an oversized spindle, any record you play on this won't be the same again lol.
As it can be easily removed I suggested machining a better fitting spindle but he could't be bothered.

How good is the arm ?

Mickey Mouse designed it. Eg. on records that run close to the centre, the arm will play past the end of the short armlift requiring retrieval by hand. Bearings seem OK, it's sold (for way less than the $6k on the TM one), so didn't try other cartridges. Gut feeling says don't try anything more ambitious than the old Shure V15/3 in the photo. Looks good with the colour record!

Steady on, I still really enjoy my V15/3.

It has it's virtues, whereas my Lyra dug out every tick and pop in the above Blue Beatles, barely any extraneous noise got past the Shure.
