This guy makes building a plinth look so easy, the full construction of a plywood plinth. Simply stunning looking.
Gorgeous Bubinga veneered ply plinth, completed with Garrard 301, Ikeda 345 tonearm (GBP6000), Audionote IO-M cartridge (GBP5000/MSRP NZ$15600)

Nothing wrong with a piano gloss finish! In moderation.
That one's been preened and polished to within an inch of it's life !

I regret having to sell my 301. And the SME 2009 Series II Improved arm, separately. I knew I'd never get them back.
So I can only imagine plinths I might have made.
Still, the sales put food on the table and the elektrickery enabled, which was the main thing.
And the Lenco 75.
I still have new bearing sleeves for that;= I should post a for sale ad.
But I always love looking at beautiful and technically accomplished plinths.

No, described badly, the sintered brass sleeves to contain the main platter bearing spindle. Sintered, oil containing porous brass, vertical turntable spindle lower part bearing sleeves. I think. Photo in a separate topic later.

No that makes sense, my bad. Sorry, I don't think I need those.

Thanks, no prob. They were sent from the Lenco Heaven ex maestro himself, Francois LeBeau, from Annecy, France, new. Might be useful for somebody.

I actually sub to this guy on youtube, that's a great video, I love how much detail he shows. Doing a real polished glass finish like that looks really tricky/labour intensive. Interesting how he cuts a round-over through the veneer all around the top edge, but then the stain blends it all back in. Good way to hide the unsightly veneer join. That's a pretty good price, provided it's finished nicely. You'd be hard pressed to make it locally for that.

Wish my tt had a nice wood finish instead of battleship grey. Getting a bit sick of the same sight after 12 years. Unfortunately the design doesn't lend its self to easy change so I perve and dream of exotic timbers.

Thought my Gyro looked space age futuristic when I bought it in 1981. Now I cant stand the sight of it so hide it behind my listening chair so I dont have to look at it... Funny how tastes change over time.

Funny how tastes change over time. I lusted after a Gyro for some years. Either couldn't afford one or no shop selling them. I guess distribution in NZ wasn't that great. Closest I got was a Michell Focus One which wasn't close at all.
