It's with sadness that I announce the death of two writers from AudioEnz.
Shane Hanify died on Saturday, March 13. Shane, based in Christchurch, contributed a number of reviews to the online version of AudioEnz and was a regular participant in the online forums. Shane was a good friend and, as a talented photographer, was an inspirational help to me in my new career.
Max Christoffersen died almost two years ago in March 2019. It's impossible to underestimate the influence of Max on both the print and online versions of AudioEnz. As one example, Max suggested to me (badgered me is a truer description) to include an online forum within AudioEnz. That forum became more successful than either of us anticipated and is, I guess, a forbearer to the Dark Lantern forum. Max's sheer enthusiasm for audio and home theatre came through from his first hand-written letter to me in the 1990s (I think I still have his original correspondence and reviews in a box somewhere).
Max started writing record reviews in 1998, went on to write articles, columns (affectionally known at AudioEnz Towers as "Max's bitch page) and a wealth of home theatre reviews. Throughout his time with AudioEnz Max was a constant source of inspiration and ideas and did so much to keep this writer and the magazine going.
