Wasn’t he connected with the now defunct NZ Tone magazine? Witchdoctor web site still exists.

Witchdoctor still going. Gary lives near Dargaville with his young family. He is, as a journalist a music person not a gear person, so his assessment comes from that side of the tracks.

Gary bought my Theos speakers from me. Pleased to see he's keeping them although given the timing of his sale he may be looking at the Summits just listed.

Agree, $8K looks to be a very fair price. Interesting lot of gear he has there too. I picked an ARC CD player, Audiolab pre amp, Project TT, couldnt pick the rest of though the gold pre with the wooden end cheeks reminds me of the RM stuff ?

Lawd with photos like that $8k is too much ! The black Audiolab looks like a Denon tuner, The gold faceplated stuff might be Sonic Frontiers, Jadis or some no-name

Hi MW,
Yes my first thoughts on seeing the piece on the bottom was Sonic Frontiers but I cant recall any of their gear having the transformers at the front ?
Another of those small US tube brands that made a splash and then went by the wayside.

You may well be right.
The preamp under the ARC CDP and power amp at the bottom look like Jadis.
But those photos are so pixel-deprived they could be anything,
Hurts my eyes looking at it !

I remember being quite familiar with a pal's Sonic Frontiers SF-80 power amp with KT90(?) tubes. And also a tube Linestage. I think the Anthem line was acquired by someone & continues.

Paradigm bought Anthem and "design and engineered" the current range of AVRs, separates.
The AVRs I've seen are made in Vietnam, don't know where the separates are made..
