The iFI NEO iDSD is iFI's latest offering - a 'desktop DAC-headphone amplifier'.
Hard to keep up with iFI's new products, they obviously know where the target growth market is - desktop and/or portable, all-in-one, compact digital audio.
This is a slightly-better-than-entry-level DAC & headphone amp - a step above the entry-level ZEN range.
- 4 digital inputs – Bluetooth (AAC, aptX HD, LDAC, LHDC), asynchronous USB, coaxial and TOSLINK
- Bluetooth 'remembers' up to seven paired Bluetooth source devices
- Bluetooth can be updated online with future codecs
- 4 possible analogue outputs: balanced XLR or RCA (pre-amp possibility included)
- 3.5mm or 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn sockets for headphones (up to 1 Watt into 32 Ohms)
- Microprocessor-controlled resistor ladder volume control
- Digital filter alternative filters available via firmware updates
- MQA-capable Burr-Brown DAC
- DSD (up to 512) and PCM (up to 32bit/768kkHz)
- 'Purist' design without any DSP
- Jitter reduction via a Femto clock with data buffer
- Ultra-fast USB interface 'with 16 logic cores and up to 2000MIPS 512KB SRAM'
- Balanced, symmetrical, dual-mono analogue circuitry co-developed by John Curl with 'high-quality components used throughout'
- Regulated low-noise, high-bandwidth PSU with iFi’s low noise wall-wart.
- THD less than 0.0015%.
- SNR over 120dB
A lot of 'audiophile-intent' technology packed into this.
US$699 / £699 / €749 / NZ$1399
