STEREOPHILE Editor in Chief, Jim Austin opines about what needs to change about the state & nature of 'audiophilia': " High-end audio is deadly serious for many passionate audiophiles... defend their turf... and boy-howdy is it ferocious,.. " " People, please, you want to grow our industry? This isn't productive. It drives music lovers away from a potential joy of a lifetime. " " In the meantime, angsty audiophiles must open up and share their passion. "

Really ? I dont hang with a lot of audiophiles but when I do I dont recall any huge arguments about anything. Regarding cables: Yes I know that scientifically they shouldnt make any difference but 5 minutes listening will tell you otherwise...

Agreed - the anonymity of the internet makes forums / social media incredibly toxic at the best of times.
In real life, many audiophiles I've met have been shy little things - but get them on the internet and they are rabid, opinionated types.
