Going through old stacks of audio magazines, depending on the case it can be a surprisingly interesting read.
I also came across issues of my father’s Stereo Review (1969). That is even more interesting: from advertising about Fisher, Kenwood and Sansui receivers to a very good article about the sense of hearing to reviews about records I’m listening to 50 years after (Nina Simone, Toru Takemitsu, Joan Baez), to news such as Pierre Boulez taking over the NY Philarmonic. Half of the magazine is devoted to music and a lot of those recordings withstood the test of time, my other half is telling me that I should have been an archaeologist, oh well.
